1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Edward initially trained in the US Army as an emergency medical technician and also worked within the Military Police, based in the US, Germany and Middle East. Since that time he has gained over 23 years’ clinical experience working both within the emergency services as a medic and fire fighter in the US, and as a remote site medic in Afghanistan and Iraq, providing primary health care and emergency medical cover together with management of health and safety issues. Edward is a registered Paramedic within the state of Illinois.

Edward is in possession of current ACLS, ITLS and BLS certificates and has a wealth of experience in the training of CPR and First Aid. He has excellent managerial and administrative skills, is adept at report writing and is computer literate.

Edward possesses strong interpersonal communication and motivational skills. He is level headed and used to working under pressure, often in hostile situations.

He is fit and healthy and enjoys outdoor pursuits, including golf and bowling. He also holds a private pilot's license and enjoys recreational flying.

2007 - 2009 Frontier Medical, Worldwide

HSE/Paramedic, responsible for the management and operation of an occupational health clinic aboard seismic vessels, responding to emergencies as necessary and also providing immediate evaluations for medical needs. Edward performed safety checks and evaluations as necessary and enforced health and safety regulations. Edward was very involved in reporting and documentation of all HSE matters. He has also been responsible for establishing a clinic, or ship’s hospital, from initial start up. This has included determining physical set up, equipment and medications purchase and stock, and establishing Emergency Response Plans and training.

2006 - 2007 KBR, Afghanistan

HSE/Paramedic, responsible for the management and operation of an occupational health clinic, responding to emergencies as necessary and also providing immediate response to medical and trauma emergencies. Edward performed safety checks and evaluations as necessary and enforced health and safety regulations. He carried out drug screenings and medical physical examinations for those on site.

2005 - 2006 Metro Paramedics (Cicero Fire Department), Illinois

Paramedic, responsible for the provision of 24-hour pre-hospital care response to advanced life support levels, working in an area of low income and high crime with high accident, shooting and drug abuse rates.

2005 - 2006 Global Risk Strategies, Kabul, Afghanistan

Security Consultant/Medic, Edward was part of a Quick Reaction Force to respond to a wide variety of needs, ranging from minor injuries to events with multiple victims. He provided armed security services and acted as Team Commander within close protection details.

2004 - 2005 Aegis Defense Services, Ramadi and Fallujah, Iraq

Medic/Security Consultant, assisting with the provision of medical care and acting as Instructor for all medical classes. In addition Edward served as a driver, vehicle commander, gunner, and squad automatic weapon gunner in remote locations. He was assigned to close protection for VIPs, as required.

Paramedic/Firefighter providing emergency medical response to advanced life support levels, management of incident scenes, inter hospital transfers, and working in collaboration with local municipal fire departments.

1994 - 1996 Palos Park & South Holland, Illinois

Police Officer, responding to calls for assistance in high traffic volume municipalities, with responsibility for traffic enforcement and crime investigations and EMS.

1992 - 1993 South Chicago Heights Police Department, Illinois

Patrol Officer, routine patrol duties and traffic enforcement. Conducted initial and follow-up investigations for a wide range of cases, including drink driving, suspended driving license and reckless homicide. Made arrests and processed prisoners.

1987 - 1992 United States Army

Medic/Military Police, Edward began his Army career as a medic, assisting the paramedic ambulance crew and performing all standard EMT duties, based in the US and in Germany. As a Senior Medic he had responsibility for all medical procedures at the Battalion Aid Station, including full daily sick parade and physical fitness examinations on tactical exercise. As Squad Leader he supervised a team of eight and was responsible for the medical section clinic operations. Based in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm, Edward provided physical security and patrol duties within the Military Police and ended his Army career as a Special Security Representative.
