Reported to the Vice President of the Technical Services Division Worldwide. I was directly responsible for all of OPI’s marine fleet in the western hemisphere and supported all the equipment in the eastern hemisphere. I managed and maintained budgets, expenses, and operations for six departments. My division was responsible for maintenance, repairs, drydockings, and upgrades of OPI’s marine fleet and misc. equipment (i.e. hammers, stingers, jetting systems, etc.). Also was responsible for facilities and security for our Orange and Sabine Pass facilities.

My responsibilities included acting as project manager for repairs, drydockings, and major modifications for a fleet of over two hundred vessels worldwide (i.e. derrick/pipelay barges, semisubmersibles, barges, ships, tug/supply vessels, and cargo/launch barges). Responsible for conducting detailed inspections of vessels and equipment and prepared reports for corrective action of damages and maintenance problems. Responsible for project supervision, planning, scheduling, on-site inspections, and continued financial analysis throughout projects. Personally supervised projects totaling over 30 million USD. Coordinated with various international government and regulatory classification societies. Interfaced with corporate legal, insurance and risk management departments for settlement of contracts and claims. Examination and negotiation of shipyard and subcontract invoices for payment. Developed standardized shipyard contracts, budgeting system and work order system utilized worldwide throughout the company. Designated coatings and cathodic protection expert for company. Started and operated Dubai 0Drydocks, Dubai, U.A.E. utilizing local Arab workforce and trained same in shipyard repairs. Supervised offshore crane upgrades and new construction up to 5000 ton capacity.
