Analysis of end plate tubular connections by Finite Element Methods

The goal of conducted project was to simulate the behavior of end plate tubular connection under the load. There was such 3-D model made. Initial bolt strain, contact, large strain and large displacements phenomena were established. The computational model was developed in the framework of ADINA 7.4 general purpose program. The proposed model was verified by experiments. There were 19 models built, vary with the number of bolts, endplate and tube thickness. Comprising the results obtained theoretically as well as in experiment, show that they differ in-significantly. It means the proposed model could take advantage in workout of simplified models used in everyday engineering practice.
