I have spent most of my working career traveling around the UK and abroad so I am willing to travel wherever is required.

Over the course of my working career I have gained vast experience in the industry both as a Coded Welder and as a Welding Supervisor / Welding Inspector both in the UK and abroad. Commencing as an apprentice Welder and then working as a skilled craftsman where I gained invaluable experience which enabled me to move onto more Supervisory rolls. I am a qualified CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector with PCN Level 2 radiographic interpretation experience.

Complient with ISO 9001 2000 and PED. Controlling materials and consumables. Writing, witnessing and running Welding Procedures, including qualification. Working with P&ID, Isometric and General Arrangement Drawings. Raising NCRs, Site Instructions and Auditing Sub Contractors. Also compiling completion packages to sign off the product.
Computer literate in, Word, Excel, Acrobat and Visio.

I have also been involved in the training of Welders to bring them up to the standard required for the projects that I have been involved in.

25 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. Held senior management positions both Onshore and Offshore in a range of construction projects related to Oil Field production areas, Offshore Hook Ups, Pumping Stations, Refineries, LNG & Gas Plants, Power Stations and Pipeline Installations. A skilled communicator in both written and oral forms, able to develop and lead a multi-national team. Experienced in working in difficult and remote locations and managing operations with minimal supervision from head office. Served a full 4 year apprenticeship with Sunderland Shipbuilders Ltd.

Power Units ( 1953 ) Limited, South Hook LNG Project, Milford Haven, South Wales.

Employed as site Welding Inspector/QA/QC Coordinator. Monitoring the installation of pipe work for 5 LNG tanks, cryogenic & service lines, ensuring that company work standards are being achieved. Interfacing with all Project Supervisors, Site Representatives and Site QA/QC Engineers. Reviewing all documentation, sentencing radiographs verifying all NDE reports. Compiling test packs ready for testing & commissioning. Compiling and submission of mechanical completion packages.

July 2007 – March 2008:
CB & I UK Limited, South Hook LNG Project, Milford Haven, South Wales.

Position: Welding Supervisor/Inspector. Responsible for a team of Welders, Pipe Fitters, constructing 5 LNG storage tanks and fitting associated cryogenic pipe work and service utilities. Responsible for dimensional checks and NDE on all pipe spools and fabrication.

April 2005 – July 2007:
GE Energy Services Ltd, Crompton Avenue, Pipps Hill Ind. Est. Basildon, Essex.

Position: Welding & Inspection Supervisor: Tasked with the position of overseeing Welders in the T.I.G. weld repair of segments from gas turbine first, second and third stage nozzles. Also responsible for supervising Welding Inspectors. Responsible for First Line Weld Inspection, NDT and QA/QC documentation.

September 2004 – April 2005:

Position: Welding Supervisor. Responsible for a team of Welders, welding pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and refrigeration units. Also gas riser pipe work and pipe work for AC and fan cool units.

November 2001 – March 2002:
Strachan & Henshaw, Ashton Works, Bristol.

Position: Welding Supervisor: Overseeing Welders working on nuclear submarine support structures for the MOD. Also tasked with first line Weld Inspection.

May 2001 – September 2001:
Finarc Consultants, Turku, Finland.

Position: Welding Superintendent: Responsible for a team of Welders and Pipe Fitters fabricating and welding stainless steel pressure vessels and process pipe work for a new paper mill being constructed in Northern Italy. Also tasked with the Supervision of all site Welding Inspectors. Location: Metso Paper Mill, Verzuolo, near Turin, Northern Italy.

November 1999 – May 2001:

Position: Coded Welder/Fabricator: Fabricating and welding various aluminium, stainless and titanium components for various aerospace clients.

April 1999 – October 1999:

Position: Welding Superintendent: responsible for a team of Welders and Welding Inspectors from the UK. Welding and Inspection of accommodation and process modules being constructed for the offshore industry. Mainly duplex and stainless pipe work. Scan Offshore Consultants, Conisten House, Ulverston, Cumbria.

Position: Welding Supervisor: responsible for a team of Welders from the UK, working on 20 meter bridge sections being constructed for the Oresund Link Project between Sweden and Denmark. This was the high bridge part of the project which housed both the rail deck and the vehicle deck. Location: Karlskrona Varvet, Karlskrona, Sweden.

April 1993 – November- 1996:
Amec Offshore, Altens, Nigg, Aberdeen.

Position: Welding Supervisor. Initially involved in the hook up stage of the Amerada Hess, Scott offshore platform hook-up. The majority of the work was stainless and duplex pipe work and I was involved in WPSs and WPQRs for the client.
I was then employed on an ongoing maintenance contract which included a full upgrade of the water injection and flow line systems, which was again all duplex pipe work ranging from 2 to 24 inch.
