I have had a great deal of OIL and GAS OPERATION/COMMISSIONING working experience in both OFFSHORE and ONSHORE. Present roles as Field Manager & Field Plant Supt, responsible for the interface – commissioning with the Commissioning contractors, interface with the well clean-up contractors, well hand-over and start-up of the THARJATH Oil plant facilities. Managing around 400 personnel in the plant.

Establishing the commissioning interface protocol acceptance criteria and system handover mechanism.

Developing Standard Operating Procedures, HAZOP studies, Management of Change on completed designed items and assist in developing O-ERP (Onshore Emergency Response Plans), Plant Stand-Alone Mode site-specific procedure.


In-charge of a multi-nationalities group.

2004 : Operation Engineer

Providing Technical Support to various Technical Authors developing Commissioning and Operating Procedures; Providing Technical Support to the Offshore Operations Team as they conduct their day to day duties, with the aim of optimizing Production.

Undertake Risk Assessments covering a wide range of Operations Activities. Provide input into development of a Computerized Materials and Maintenance Management System as part of a multi-discipline Engineering Team. Provide input into the operational reporting and planning structure.

Developing Scope of Work, Project Execution Plan for ITB (Instruction to Bid) Contract documents such and when required by Management.

Focal Point for FIP (Facilities Improvement Project)

Tangible Value Creation Added – Projects Accomplished.
- Production Capability and Optimization Study. The completed project has enabled the Plant to increase its gas export throughput from the initial designed capacity by 20% incremental.
- Operating Export Compressor at lower Production Separator pressure. The simulation has enable operation to be made possible during future lower reservoir pressure without having the needs to go for high cost plant’s rejuvenation work.
- High level of chlorine in drinking water at Offshore Installation. Resolved by decreasing chlorine production. Decreasing the production has also eliminated stress corroded to the downstream equipment.
- Glycol Dehydration Recirculation Line Vibration. Resizing by increasing the level of dampening on the Glycol Pump’s pulsation dampener has resolved the vibration issue which had caused much breakage to the equipments and glycol recirculation lines.
- Lines Upgrade from Carbon Steel to CRA (corrosion resistance alloy) material, effect of hydrocarbon erosion due to high velocities. A member team to undertake the project from start to finish. Completed project enable the plant to increase production.
- Heat Tracing of Export Compressor Fuel Gas Lines; for Gas Generator (Roll Royce RB211) starting permissive enable. Completed heat tracing job enable the Gas Generator to be started without having to vent off the cold fuel gas to atmosphere prior to starting.


2003 – 2004 : PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN BHD ( PMO )

: Platform Superintendent (Duyong Gas Platform)

Managing daily gas and condensate production of 300 mmscfd respectively. Gas and condensate are exported to OGT Terminal Gas in Kerteh.

Responsible for establishing and implementing structured familiarization and competency programmed for the Offshore Personnel. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Technical Support Team as they gather and compile platform equipment technical information and prepare maintenance work instructions for use offshore.

Achievement: Best Quality Team Award for PCSB, Sarawak Operation, in 2002.


(2000 - 2001) : Operation Supervisor – Baram Asset Operation

Joined the Platform during the construction of BAK-B phase. Charged with helping to establish an entire Operations group and management infrastructure required to operate and maintain a large integrated Oil & Gas Platform. Specific responsibilities include:

Definition, establishment and ongoing management of familiarization, training and competency programme for offshore operations personnel.

Interfacing with the Project Team and Contractors on a wide variety of operational issues, including:
- Scheduling the offshore scope whereby the HU&C programme progresses along with operational activities i.e. pipeline dewatering, well offloading and the eventual introduction of hydrocarbons and start up.

As Team leader, became responsible for the day-to-day safe management of the plant and supervision and control of the platform Operations and Maintenance personnel.

Held SR position in several activities:
Work Barge SIMOP Topside Major Maintenance projects, Drilling, Acidising, Work-over Preparation, Construction and Commissioning activities.
Wire line Well Perforation.


Tangible Value Creation contributed:
Gained 140 bbls/d of nett oil daily circa RM15, 000 from lowering static operating pressure in V-200 LP Vessel. – West Lutong Platform
Annual saving of RM1.2 million from mini project accomplished resolving Wet Gas carry-over in the instrument system. – Betty Platform.
Annual saving of RM7 million in gas venting and well close-in from resolving frequent tripping of Export Gas Compressors from high engine jacket coolant temperature - Bokor Platform

Resolved perennial problem of HVAC system frequent tripping on low pressurization cut, saving of some RM354, 000 annually from hot work corrective maintenance in the Mechanical Workshop. – Bokor Platform
