1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I was recently the General Manager of Manhattan Resources' Chicago office - which the home office in Houston, Texas has decided to close. Prior to joining Manhattan Resources, I spent nine years as a well-established and highly-successful recruiter of accounting professionals with more than $2.2 million in career billings.
At Advanced Financial Resources I served as the first "Direct Hire Services" employee and later was promoted to Division Director for their Accounting & Finance practice, which I helped grow to a team of 10 recruiters.
Prior to moving to Chicago in November 2006, I spent four years with the SolomonEdwardsGroup (SEG) in both their Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. offices. I had followed my mentor Tammy Harrington, (who initially recruited me into the business while she was at Romac International) over to SEG to be a full-cycle, “Perm” recruiter. SEG was still in its ‘infancy’ stage in Philadelphia, with a focus on building a dual service of both Accounting & Finance Staffing practice and an Accounting & Business Consulting practice. In late October 2002, the Philadelphia Business Journal awarded the SolomonEdwardsGroup with the distinction of Philly’s “Fastest Growing Company” award (http://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/stories/2002/10/28/focus2.html.)
After two successful years in SEG’s Philadelphia office – the opportunity presented itself for me to relocate to Washington, D.C. and help to start up SEG’s Accounting & Business Consulting Services practice with a former PricewaterhouseCoopers Partner who was hired to lead the DC office. The majority of the time I was in D.C. I spent recruiting and hiring Accounting and Consulting professionals for the SEG DC-Metro consulting practice. These individuals I recruited and hired as full time (salaried) employees of the SolomonEdwardsGroup, were ultimately teamed up on various consulting engagements with our clients. The majority of said consultants’ whom I recruited and hired, were at the “Senior Associate” and “Manager” level – coming out of regional Fortune companies, Big 4 accounting firms, or National Accounting and Consulting practices (i.e. IBM, BearingPoint, Accenture, etc). My largest assignment in D.C. was staffing for a financial restatement engagement for a large client headquartered in the area.
Prior to being an Accounting & Finance recruiter, I spent almost three years as an Accountant and sat for the CPA exam. I am a licensed Certified Staffing Professional (CSP), and have a BA in Accounting from Gettysburg College.

Manhattan Resources – Chicago, IL 5/2008 – 8/2008
Houston-based Manhattan Resources recruits mid- and senior-level executives for both national and international clients in a range of energy-related industries. Its areas of specialization include finance and accounting, risk management, energy trading, sales and marketing, and IT. In addition to its Texas location, Manhattan Resources also had an office in Chicago – which was recently closed.

General Manager & Executive Recruiter
• As the General Manager, I was responsible for the overall operations and profitability of the Chicago office including the recruiting, hiring, training and managing of five (5) recruiters/staff with 2008 Gross Revenues of $450K (as of 7/2008).

Division Director – Finance & Accounting Direct Hire (4/07 – 4/08)

• Developed from inception and oversaw all aspects of the ‘Finance & Accounting Direct Hire’ business unit: with 2007 Gross Revenue of $456K; 2008 1st Quarter Gross Revenue of $250K and a 2008 target of $1M.
