1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am currently working as a derrickman and would like to build on my drilling career. I consider myself to be a hard working, highly motivated and determined person with a good sense of humour. I am a keen worker and a fast learner who enjoys working as part of a team as well as on my own initiative.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

March 2004-Present Derrickman

Responsible for the operation of drilling machinery and equipment; working the (manual) derrick; responsibility for the pump room (National 12P160 & 10P130), pit room, shaker room, bulk chemical system and sack store; and the supervision of any personnel working in these areas. Also experienced in (TTRD), threw tubing rotary drilling.

Roughneck

Working as a roughneck, I have gained experience and knowledge of a wide range of drilling bit hole assemblies (BHA), and other downhole tools. Also, I regularly operate and inspect all drilling tools and equipment. As a team, we carry out the drilling operation under the direction of the Driller. This particular job requires a great deal of co-ordination between me and my team. Additionally, hard physical effort is also required; therefore it is important for me to maintain a good standard of physical fitness. It is also vital that I remain fully committed to working safely at all times, in accordance with HSE policy, and complying with the permit to work, and the stop system, at all times. My duties also included assisting in the training of roustabouts, working in the Shaker Room and maintenance work on the drilling equipment and on the drill floor.
Roustabout

I began working in the North Sea as a roustabout on the Clyde Platform. As a roustabout, I have gained an Opito approved Greenhands course, which also included Helicopter awareness. I also completed a course to become a fire emergency response team member. Due to working on Talisman sites, I have completed levels 1 and 2 of the Talisman permit to work system. My job included the safe and proper rigging and slinging of all loads lifted and moved by the oilrigs deck cranes and other lifting equipment to include various operational components and equipment, supplies, containers, tubulars and other materials utilized in the daily functioning of the oilrig as directed by the crane operator. During non-crane operational modes, my work activity included various maintenance work about the oilrig, including equipment movement about the decks; and repair and maintenance of systems and equipment.

Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering - Obtained through undertaking HNC in Mechanical Engineering and through employment.

After successfully passing phase one training, I went on to phase two, were I gained my HGV, LGV, car and motorcycle licenses. I then got posted to 32 close support regiment Abingdon, Oxford, were I was in the workshop as a mechanical technician, servicing, repairing and maintaining all military Vehicles. I then wanted to further my military career and successfully passed “P Company” (Para’s) and the all arms course, “Royal Marines Commando”. I was then posted to 43commando, where I was guard commander/Physical training instructor for the squadron; other duties included field exercises, sniper training, ground combat and armed convoy assistance.

Duties for my position with Masterpower included the production of PCB boards, control panels and testing of such finished articles. I also attended Aberdeen Gallowgate College and Tullos Training where I received SQA’s in Electrical engineering, Electrostatics, Network analysis; AC & DC circuit response, Power factor improvement and 3 phase theory and programmable logic controllers.
