He has been in the oil industry since 1972. He has been working as a consult-ing drilling fluid engineer since 1987, with 32 years of practical drilling fluid experience.
His experience ranges from drilling and pushing work over completion rigs to drilling on drilling rigs. His drilling fluid experience covers a wide geographical area and wide range of application from the Rockies to extensive experience in ultra deep water arena in the USA and international areas. His approach to drilling fluid application and solids removal efficiency’s, has earned him high regards from operators and peers in the industry.
He is professional, proactive and experienced in the drilling fluid sector, and brings to the table an attitude and thought process outside the box.

ExxonMobil Piceance Creek wells, Colorado USA.
BP Exploration Offshore Belem Brazil. BP -Rebeca and Reki wells.
Drilled ultra deep-water well Chinook Prospect Gulf of Mexico record water depth 8835 feet.
Drilled, gravel packed and tested well offshore West Africa BP Amoco discovery well.
Drilled in new area of Iran, high-pressured wells (165 pcf) complete loss circulation with high-pressured salt-water flows and high-pressure production zones.
Drilled a 17,000’ highly overburdened well in the foothills of Montana. Mud weights of 20 to 21- ppg.
Drilled directional, lateral hole in Alberta, Canada. Cored first lateral well 1500 feet of core cut at 90 degrees. Oil Base Drilling Fluid.
Drilled record well in Trading Bay Alaska, record days and record AFE for that area.
Drilled two lateral wells Newfield Exploration, with 1500 feet of lateral displacement at 90 degree’s. PHPA Drilling Fluid.
Drilled with a non-damaging drill in Carbonate fluid, drilling two wells with 1000 feet of lat-eral displacement per well. North Dakota.
North Cook Inlet, Phillips Petroleum, Tyonic platform. Difficult directional wells from the Tyonic platform. Pressures from coal, and overburden formations.
Pressured Hydrogen Sulfide wells to 60% to 75% H2S, Alberta, and Canada.

Drilling highly pressured shale’s in the foothills of Alberta Canada.
Desoto Canyon Block 177, written up in World Oil. First well drilled in ultra deepwater us-ing Synthetic Oil Base Drilling Fluid, (Novaplus ).

I have been involved as general manager, setting up a drilling fluids company in Denver Colorado from the ground up.
