The work included Earthwork, soft ground treatment, Aggregate Base Course & DBST. LCB ( local competitive bidding) Contract, FIDIC - IV, Local Contractor.


As RE, responsible for Construction Supervision of the Project Road, Liaison with client, preparation of bill of the work executed, Preparing quality management plan and method statements and getting it approved by the client, producing detailed calculation reports, drawings, physical and financial charts for approval, Guiding / supporting the site engineers and supervisors on construction problems, quantity survey and estimation, etc. Sub-letting the work to sub-contractors and extracting quality work from them, Establishment of Quality Control Laboratory. Testing soil, aggregates, cement and asphalt, preparation of job mix formula for asphaltic mixes. Conducting quality control tests as per specification and their documentation. As a Consultant, was responsible for providing advice and assistance to the Director Provincial Road Development Authority in supervision of the physical progress of work using project management techniques including procurement of consultants and contractors on ADB Guidelines, preparation of tender documents, calling bids and d bid evaluation, reviewing and approving contractor’s work programmes and implementation schedules and, proof checking of the detailed engineering design and drawing submitted by the contractor. As per the TOR, establishment and procurement of a soil laboratory in the Provincial Director’s office and training his staff in quality assurance of works, assuring the quality of laboratory testing of materials and aiding the contractors in setting up the plant and machinery required for timely completion of the works were also carried out. Also monitored contractor’s operations and ensured contract compliance by the contractor.
