Please find my resume enclosed for your consideration for the position of a senior CAD piping designer. I have been doing 3D piping models since working at Fish, in 1994. I have used a number of 3D modeling tools. The last software I have been is REBIS Plant PDS, by Intergraph. It is not a real PDS program, but probably comes close. I have not used PDMS or PDS, but I am willing to learn that too.. I would think most 3D programs would be very similar, or do the same thing in different ways perhaps. I don’t think it would take long to get up to speed.

Project: Aristech Chemical Corporation – La Porte

This was a Flare Gas Recovery Project that replaced and existing exchanger, with a new one in a new location. A Hexane chiller skid, and Nitrogen compressor skid was added to the side of a new pipe rack. A Hexane recovery tank and pump with provision for a spare pump were included in the design and layout.

Project: AES - Pasadena, Texas

Senior piping lead designer on this Cogeneration waste conversion project. We converted the plant from limestone and gypsum waste by products to Ammonium Thiosulfate fertilizer by product. This required adding three intermediate tanks, eight pumps, and the conversion of eight pumps, the addition of a filter skid, a reactor skid, the modification for two absorber towers, and two quench tanks. To make the process complete addition of sulphur storage tank and pumps were required in addition to two large ammonia bullets and the related distribution systems.

Project: Equistar Channelview Complex - Sheldon Road - Channelview, Texas

Checked Co-generation Facilities Interconnecting Piping Project. S & B’s role was identify tie-in locations, iso them and provide a materials list for the tie-ins. This included routing piping through the existing chemical plant facility, from our tie-ins to the new grass roots Co-generation facility. Several storage tanks, pumps and new pipe racks were required to get all the piping and utilities collected together and brought to the new facility. Much of this work had to be coordinated with our pipe stress department.

Project: Equistar La Porte Complex- 1515 Miller Cut Off Road - La Porte, Texas 77571

Checker for the Polyethylene Extrusion line stack out in Finishing Building. S & B replaced nearly everything in the existing structure up through the roof. Discovered a 1 ½” error in the setting of the new blender which saved the contractor a lot of money and kept the project on schedule. This meant an earlier return on our clients’ investment too.

Project: Conoco, Lake Charles Refinery - Lake Charles, Louisiana

Checked Desalter Area, Exchanger structure, and pipe racks of new crude unit. Many field trips were made for the purpose of locating tie-in points, and existing equipment. Most of these areas operated at temperatures requiring stress analysis, and interfacing with the stress department. There were scattered modifications to this facility and wound up finishing for three different squad leaders. One of the squad leaders bestowed the title of Finisher on me. We didn’t just check the drawings, but had to complete them during the check phase due to the pressing schedule.

Project: Exxon Upstream Development Corp. Diana Project – Houston, Texas

Ended this project as the lead designer for night shift construction support at Brown and Root’s Greens Bayou Fabrication Yard on the Diana Project. Was responsible for solving problems with the piping and structural inspectors, construction foremen, and fitters. During the engineering phase, checked the glycol dehydration unit, was the designer on deck drains and the open and closed drain systems, as well as utility area piping, firewater pump piping systems and sub cellar deck piping.

Project: Vigoro Chemicals – France, and Italy take down

Lead designer in piece marking and tracking spools shipped from these three ammonia plant facilities to the Greens Bayou storage and clean-up facility. Was the lead designer for the compressor building redesign using the refurbished equipment. Was responsible for creating as-built equipment drawings, at vendors’ facilities doing the refurbishing of equipment.

Was one of three designers selected to build a 3-D model of proposed ammonia plant facility in Kentucky, for a client proposal using windows based versions of AutoCAD and Pro-Pipe on Microsoft Windows NT platforms. An airplane was hired that flew over the site and photographed the plant site. We put our 3-D model on the photograph. The result looked so real the client had us hire an artist to do a watercolor background of the site so it would look more like the proposal it was than what appeared in our model as an existing plant.

Pulled material from isometrics so orders could be placed for the construction effort. Checked orthographic piping drawings as required.
