2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

December 2006 – Present Propulsion Group Head HMS Endurance
• Administered propulsion and power generation systems including; Rolls-Royce Bergen and Mitsubishi Diesel generators, incorporating all switchboards, control systems, gearboxes and shafting arrangements.
• Analysed performance and vibration trials, planned, controlled and conducted long and short term preventative maintenance routines; ensuring equipment was kept at the optimum performance level, to optimise power available to the Command in arduous conditions with limited resources.
• Updated technical engineering documentation and conducted engineering audits of technical systems to ensure the highest engineering standards were maintained at all times.
• Trained and instilled engineering standards into team members’ work ethic, correct operation and maintenance procedures of specialist equipment incorporating; heavy electromechanical and control systems whilst ensuring all Health and Safety considerations were adhered to throughout, in line with Fleet Engineering Standards.
• Compiled professional reports and monitoring the welfare and professional development of junior members of the department as a Divisional Officer.
• Provided both in depth and general briefings to all levels of senior management and prospective management on specialist equipment as shift manager.
• Developed close relationships with civilian contractors, ensuring quality control of tasks in accordance with Fleet Engineering Standards.

November 2004 – December 2006 Maintainer/Lecturer HMS Sultan
• Instructed internal combustion engine training courses to approved training standards.
• Maintained technical systems including; heavy electrical and mechanical, control and hydraulic systems, specializing in the field of internal combustion engines.
• Planned, controlled and conducted long and short term preventative maintenance routines ensuring equipment was kept at the optimum performance level, enabling training of future engineers and operators.
• Conducted engineering audits of technical systems to ensure the highest engineering standards are maintained at all times incorporating the updating of technical engineering documentation
• Ensured all Health and Safety considerations were adhered to throughout courses ranging from 3 days to 4 weeks in duration.
• Integral member of the development of a new career structure and coursework for future engineers within the service.

October 2001 – November 2004 Maintainer HMS Edinburgh
• Maintained a wide range of technical systems including; main propulsion systems (Rolls Royce Gas Turbines), hydraulics; power generation (Paxman), control systems, refrigeration and air conditioning plants, high & low pressure air systems and fixed fire fighting systems.
• Qualified as Marine Engineer of the Watch (Shift Supervisor), responsible for the safe and correct operation of all machinery, accountable directly to the Engineer Officer.
• Maintained the highest engineering standards at all times, conducted preventative maintenance, defect investigation and rectification.
• Planned, controlled and assessed equipment performance trials, including vibration analysis, ensuring effective supervision and mentoring of junior staff during routine maintenance operations to reduce equipment downtime.
• Updated section engineering administration and paperwork, in accordance with fleet engineering orders.
• Appointed as the Management’s representative in their absence, ensuring section Health and Safety was adhered to whilst conducting routine maintenance.

On completion of engineering apprenticeship became an integral member of a front line team aiding equipment maintainers with fault finding and fault diagnosis.

September 1997 – October 2001 Apprenticeship HMS Sultan/London
Undertook a comprehensive apprenticeship incorporating all aspects of marine engineering including hydraulic systems and manufacture and repair techniques, leading to a BTEC in Engineering.
