1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madam

I am currently seeking employment in the offshore sector. I am a time served Marine Engineering Technician Electrical with a broad electro-mechanical background and twenty two years experience as operator and maintainer.

I have until recently served on submarines in the Royal navy as a Chief Petty Officer Marine Engineering Technician, where as a section head I lead and managed a team of technicians in carrying out the planned maintenance, defect rectification and modifications on the electrical systems of the nuclear steam raising plant. As a plant operator I was responsible to the Senior Engineer for plant operation and control whilst ensuring safe systems of work including permit to work, tag-out and procedural control and I have carried out these responsibilities in various environments from operational running to, commissioning, refit and disposal.

Having recently retired from the Royal Navy I wish to employ my skills in an equally demanding field, and although the naval nuclear and offshore industries are different disciplines I feel they share the same commitment to quality and safety to which I am accustomed. Likewise through career training both professional development and safety specific has been integral part of my career development to date and I look forward to any new challenges a career change may bring.

I am currently based in Thailand with my wife and daughter - we are well accustomed to my working away from home for extended periods and I am prepared to travel to meet any work requirements. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
