CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I seek to obtain a position in operations and/or maintenance management. I have a track record of success in building consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders when implementing new projects or processes.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc., North Slope
CPF3/STP/Drillsite Facility Engineer
November 2003 - Present
I perform surface facilities engineering for the Central Processing Facility 3 (CPF3) partial processing facility, the 15 surrounding CPF3 area drill sites, and the Kuparuk Seawater Treatment Plant. I coordinate projects from inception to construction utilizing a diverse resource pool of engineers, designers, planners, and O&M as well as Capital construction contract support. I identify sources of project funding and write supporting justification to obtain that funding. I coordinate opportunity maintenance with other major maintenance events and sheltering opportunities while balancing the manpower loading for in-house craft personnel.

I perform miscellaneous engineering calculations in support of the optimization of daily operations as well as small projects. I play a key role in the Management of Change (MoC) Process and in ensuring compliance with various aspects of Process Safety Management. I perform process safety assessments and resolve Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) action items. I prepare and give MoC initial and refresher training. I participate in several corporate Knowledge Sharing Networks and have recently collaborated on a new Corporate Upstream MoC Guidance document. I participated in a Peer review in Bohai Bay, China.

I am frequently “stepped-up” for the area Superintendent when either of them is on vacation or working off-site. This entails reviewing all defeated safety systems and handling environmental, safety, and major maintenance emergencies. I was stepped up 20% of my time at work in 2007. During that time, the control system for a major piece of power generating equipment for the entire field failed or lost communication on several occasions. This required that I communicate to the operations manager and other area Superintendents as well as coordinate needed maintenance resources and participate in fieldwide load shedding discussions. Additionally, I was stepped up when a small fire occurred in an MCC at our Seawater Treatment Plant. This required me to follow the Emergency Response Protocol and make all appropriate notifications. Lastly, I’ve been stepped up when we have had miscellaneous spills in the area requiring me to ensure that all appropriate notifications had been made to the Environmental department and coordinating the use of the local spill response team.

Unocal Alaska Resources, Anchorage, Alaska
Advanced Production Engineer
04/2003 – 11/2003
Working for Unocal, I provided facility engineering support for both a land based production facility and an off-shore oil production platform in the Cook Inlet. Key functions included finding possible causes and cost effective solutions for day to day operability issues including pump cavitation, effluent water quality excursions, equipment degradation and failures, and relieving device replacements while working with operations, maintenance and construction personnel. I provided environmental specialists with information in support of permit preparation and other compliance assurance activities. Additionally I ensured the integrity of the Management of Change Process and compliance with various aspects of Process Safety Management by leading project reviews and pre-startup safety reviews. I managed the costs of non-routine
expense and capital facility modifications including preparation of cost estimates and Return on Investment calculations. I interfaced with partner companies to obtain approvals for large expenditures. Other miscellaneous project management duties included preparation of cost estimates, requests for quotation, bid analyses and vendor selection. I coordinated diverse project teams including vendors, engineering consultants, construction contractors and company technical authorities in the areas of mechanical integrity, environmental compliance and permitting, and corrosion mitigation.

NANA/Colt Engineering, LLC, Anchorage, Alaska
Process Engineer
11/2002 – 04/2003
While working as a Process Engineer for NanaColt, I performed process calculations in support of the oil and gas production industry and created process simulations utilizing PROII and PipePhase software programs. I performed process simulations and rough cost comparisons as well as highlighted potential logistical problems in a FEL 2 level study of various small-scale dehydration methods to allow natural gas to be transported from a production facility on the North Slope to a nearby village. I performed calculations to determine the feasibility of a three-phase pipeline from an undeveloped oil field to an existing processing facility. These calculations included prediction of slugging potential during steady state conditions. I acted as the lead on a PSM Audit for three separate oil and gas production and processing facilities utilizing a modified version of OSHA's PQV technique. I aided the client in determining applicability of PSM to their facilities through research of the OSHA website and interfacing with State and Federal OSHA inspectors.

Emerald Consulting Group, Anchorage, Alaska
PSM Consultant/Process Engineer
07/2000 – 11/2002
While working as a Process Safety Management (PSM) consultant I facilitated the revalidation and creation of various baseline and project Process Hazards Analyses (PHAs)of on-shore and off-shore facilities in Alaska for multiple clients. I led PHA Teams through legitimate hazard scenarios and pointed out discrepancies between the existing facility and/or project design and ASME, ANSI B31.3 and B31.4 Codes as well as with API Recommended Practices utilizing the various methodologies employed by different clients. I wrote PHA reports and supervised the modification of the PHA Tables. I created and gave PHA training for varied audiences on industry standards and on the Client's specific procedures to provide consistency within the business unit. As a process engineer, I created process simulations to optimize existing and to size a new glycol bath heater for an oil production field. I created a process simulation and
prepared mechanical flow diagrams for a small gas well and dehydration and compression facility for a single gas well at a remote facility. I planned, performed and reported the results of plant testing of a produced project also included process simulation to determine the modifications required to increase the facility water handling by 33%. I also planned, performed and reported results of plant testing of the Low Pressure Flare Systems at two North Slope oil production facilities for the purpose of determining the extent of ice formation and blockage within the flare systems.

VECO Engineering, Bellingham, WA and Anchorage, Alaska
Project / Process Engineer
04/1997 – 07/2000
I coordinated up to sixteen simultaneous capitol projects while located at a client's silicon manufacturing facilities in Moses Lake, Washington and Butte, Montana. I interfaced with a contract engineering firm, contract construction firm, plant maintenance, vendors, and international suppliers of custom equipment. I prepared all necessary paperwork which included Return on Investment calculations and project justification packages to ensure that client financial hurdles were being met. This project included the specification and preparation of bid documents for heat exchangers, pumps and vessels and interfacing with a contract construction firm for a refinery in North Salt Lake, Utah. I performed process design of a Triethylene Glycol Gas Dehydration Unit, several new Atmospheric Distllation Units, and new Vacuum Distillation Units. Duties included process simulation, specification of equipment, development of bid packages for complete skid mounted units as well as for individual equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, and vessels. I performed hydraulic and mass transfer calculations surrounding an air sparging system for the removal of Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene, and Xylene (BTEX) and Oil and Grease from groundwater at a Leaking Underground Storage Tank site.
