I am a Material Controller at Sun Microsystems with 20 years experience in Materials. I am responsible for $25 - $35 million of inventory which I control daily.

Material Handler Sun Microsystems 2003 to Date
Communicates with wide range of customers of different levels across the business. Advising on stock transactions and resolving stock discrepancies.
Training process owner for shipping and receiving, responsible for ensuring all personal are trained in all aspects of these departments.
Multi skilled, can work in all departments of Material Services, Shipping, Receiving and Kitting.
Kitting – Generating kit lists, checking Suns system of record if stock is available. Transacting all parts on Suns system of record and then kit to assembly. Also responsible for weekly lane management checks and for running cycle counts, inputing data and investigating and correcting any stock discrepancies found.
Shipping Dept – Run shipping reports to establish what material is shipping that day and to where. Check material is available then transact on Suns system of record , run shipping invoices and record all details ie: part numbers, serial numbers and cost of products on spreadsheets then forward to freight unit for final transactions.
Receiving Dept – receive all deliveries from all couriers and freight companies. Completing initial inspection of all deliveries for any form of damage. If damage found photos are taken, downloaded and then sent to product engineer and buyer for further detailed inspection. If parts are passed material is then transacted onto Suns system of record using Purchase Order Details and then placed into stores locations.
Inventory Specialist Sun Microsystems 2001 to 2003
Office role in Inventory Control. Role involved investigating and correcting stock discrepancies and variances found in all stores locations. Also responsible for running all cycle count reports and coordinating all Physical Inventories each year. This was a yearly stock count of all inventory in all plants at Linlithgow. Total cost of inventory managed each year was $25 to $35 million dollars.
