Various project types include corporate safety representative, office and field projects, transportation, government, EPA superfund remediation, oil and gas, industrial building, power plants, pulp and paper, and military projects.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2003 – Present Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Orange, CA
Construction Safety Officer
Assignments include the support of OCTA construction and engineering division’s construction projects, and manage contractor safety for operation and maintenance facility improvement projects. Assist enhancement of health and safety specifications on Request for Proposal (RFP) contracts, and participate on selection teams for proposals, and participate in safety policy and procedure development.
Capital projects include a $550MM+ fixed price, 800 day schedule, improvement project of twelve mile California State Route 22 Freeway (SR-22) to add HOV lanes, expand bridges, modify interconnections of interstate 5, and 57 freeways with the SR-22 freeway. In addition, a separate project consists of expanding interstate I-5 HOV lanes at north Orange County into Los Angeles County, a fixed price $314MM project.
Additional projects include the construction of a new 20 acre $40MM fixed price bus base facility with a state of the art maintenance shop, fueling, brake check, wash and detail, and operations buildings. Plus $362MM of additional construction and modifications at three additional existing bus bases facilities. Projects include the construct a three new compressed natural gas (CNG) facilities, liquid natural gas (LNG) fan and sensor improvements, HVAC system replacement, concrete and asphalt parking area improvements, railroad grade separation projects.
2001 – 2003 Fluor Corporation, Aliso Viejo, CA
Senior Manager, Safety
West Region Safety Manager; Telecommunications Business Unit, responsibilities included administering the project safety program, procedure development, and oversight of various facility locations.
Corporate Headquarters, Office Safety Manager. Report to a Senior Office Safety Manager, and various executive managers.
Project assignments included; project safety on $10-40 million CM fixed and reimbursable cost projects. Participated in a PEMEX integrated “Process Safety Review and Progress Evaluation” of nine Natural Gas and Ammonia Storage facilities, in remote locations of Mexico. The Safety Review Team Evaluated Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Industrial Hygiene/Health Safety issues at each facility.
Managed site safety at Kimberly Clark Fullerton Mill, Fullerton, California, for $4 million Self-Perform Fixed Cost Field Assignment.

Shell Oil Company Dominguez Refinery (Parsons MSI Program), Carson, California (1989 - 1991). $150 million EPC & PM Reimbursable Cost Field Assignment. Administered SCAQMD rule 1166 requirements.
