I have exceptional communication skills enabling me to communicate with people at any level. Able to read and fully understand technical specifications and drawings. I have a keen eye for detail and achieve a high standard of finished work to specifications required, within the scheduled time frame and in a safe and tidy manner. Always pro-active in my attitude to work and regularly identify improvement of methods and modification potentials, which can improve project quality and efficiency. I use simple logic problem solving techniques and am very dexterous when carrying out mechanical tasks of a maintenance or fitting nature. Removal, repair, modification and installation of pipework systems aboard Royal Naval vessels. Stern shaft lube oil system. New design lube system installed and agreed by designers. Copper / Nickel pipework formed, braised, installed and all brackets made. Fresh water supply repairs. Scupper pipe repairs and modifications. Sewage Treatment Plant overhaul and repairs.

January - March 2009 - Merit / Vieolla
Pipefitter.
Installation of stainless steel (shcedule 10) pipework and instruments on water recovery plant at whiskey distillery in Elgin, Scotland. Site-run, isometric drawing and modification pipework assemblies. Pipe support steel work.
December 2008. PES Ltd
Mechanical Fitter.
Shutdown work carried out at PAS Grantham (vegetable processors). Refurbishment of steam peeler steam pipe and bearing. Steam pipe and bearing assembly stripped out cleaned and examined. New bearing fitted and re-assembled. Steam pipe and peeler vessel re-aligned using laser. New position location holes cut. Steam pipe assembly re-built and machine commissioned.

Welded and screwed pipe work, stainless, mild steel and galvanised steel for “fire training school” contract. Mechanical fitting of steel doors, windows, mezzanine and chequer plate flooring. Assembly of gas trains and associated instruments. Pipe fitting for gas vaporiser units, on and off skid. Instrument pipe fitting. Hydro-static, pneumatic and NDT testing of pipe work. Preparation and fit of mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel and inkanel steel pipe work, 4” - 16” diameter for new build boiler, heat exchanger and economiser on energy for waste (30M Watt output) project. Rigging and “pulling” of pipe work. Argon line installed - 1” screwed galvanised steel.

September - October 2007. – Mitie Scotgate – University of Sussex
Pipe Fitter Supervisor
Installation of pipe work at main energy centre and 52 plant rooms. Installation of isolation valves, pressure differential control valves, temperature and flow probes. Snagging list completion. Test of pipe work up to 10 bar. Removal and installation of chlorofier bundles. Carbon steel pipe, ½” – 10” dia, threaded and welded.

July – September 2007. Genzyme, Haverhill.
Pipe Fitter / Mechanical Fitter Supervisor
Pharmaceutical project. Installation of stainless steel, galvanised steel, mild steel pipe work and brackets. Pipe runs installed as per ISO drawings and Pipe and instrument drawings. Valves and other instruments fitted. Snag sheet work carried out. Hydro-testing of pipe work (up to 33 bar)

Re-furbishment of seismic survey vessel CCG Eastern Spirit at A&P Tyne, Jarrow. Hydraulic and pneumatic pipe work - pressure, tank, A&B and drain lines for new gun winches and auxiliary winches. Fuel shut down valves. Stainless steel pipe 10mm dia – 60mm dia. Compression fittings (up to 400 bar). All pipe work formed by hand benders and hydraulic benders. Flushing of hydraulic system (100 bar). Commissioning and set-to-work of winches, hydraulic motors and rams. Pressure testing at 300 bar.

November 2006 - January 2007. Sulzer Pumps, Leeds.
Pipe Fitter/ Mechanical Fitter
Form work, weld preparation, pipe system assembly and fitting of stainless steel pipe, duplex and swage lock pipe to horizontal split bearing pumps, multi-phase pumps, multi stage barrel casing boiler feed pumps and axially split multi-stage pumps, for oil and gas, hydrocarbon processing and power generation industries. All work carried out to drawings, but also some pipe work developed. Sling and rigging of machines and other parts.

Shut down work at the BOS plant. Installation of ‘slack’ water drain form vessel fan housing, 8” steel pipe. Replacement of 4” fire mains. Preparation of all pipe work, bends, flanges, valves and hydrants for welding. Survey of site and measurements. Installation of new pipe work. Sling and rigging of pipes and pipe assemblies.

June - October 2006. Rotary Yorkshire. St James's Oncology Project, Leeds.
Pipe Fitter.
Connection of pipe work from stab-in pipe from main circuits to chilled beam units (closed loop system). Assembly of valve sets. Copper, carbon steel (mapress) and malleable iron pipe work. Assembly of mains risers. Installation of domestic water supplies. Pressure testing of domestic services (8 bar). All brackets and fixings to concrete soffit.

March – June 2006. Haig Brothers Hydraulics Ltd – Falmouth
Instrumentation Pipe Fitter.
Re-refurbishment of bilge and ballast hydraulic system aboard RFA ship. Total strip out of lower deck stainless steel pipe system. Identification of remaining pipe system and valves. Installation of multi-pipe 12mm diameter stainless steel pipe (20 miles of pipe). Termination of 1600 pipe ends to manifold blocks. Re-connection of ships valves. Flush test of new pipe (100 bar) Commission and set-up of valve system. Full pressure test of system (130 bar).

October 2005 – March 2006. Southern Trains – Brighton
Mechanical Fitter / ‘E’ Exam Technician.

Contract position. Category 4 exam work on ‘Flender’ couplings and HVAC system on 377 Electrostar fleet. Clean and examine HVAC modules. Strip, clean, examine and re-assemble gearbox / traction motor ‘Flender’ couplings (safety critical work). Completion of paperwork and work sign-off documentation.

Mechanical Fitter / Modification Technician
Contract position. Overhaul of passenger door system on LUL Bakerloo line 1972 stock.
Strip out advert panels, headers, door posts and doors, existing roller track and reaction strip, mercury switch interlocks. Refurbish doors – new rubber seals, ferrado strip. Dress doors to fit new roller brackets. Fit new roller track, reaction strip, interlocks and refurbished doors. Centralise doors and achieve pre-compression by adjusting door engine positions. Fit new pneumatic chokes to door engines. Set interlock gaps and achieve door open and close times. Re-fit all panels etc

Contract position. Modification of 1967 LUL cab. Cab spot cooling unit mod. Contract completed. Strip out ceiling panels and cab body panels for mechanical / electrical access. Fit cab spot cooler unit, lighting panels and ceiling panel. Re-fit existing panels. Clean out cab.
Quality checks carried out to check-list. Items included were cables connected, items fitted, bolts torqued. All items were checked, rectified if necessary and signed for before vehicle released.
