CV/Resume Details

1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

• 10 years work experience in seismic data interpretation and integration of geological data to generate and evaluate prospects with a demonstrated record of success.
• Highly experienced with reservoir characterization using geophysical and geological data.
• Worked in oil exploration in different types of basins (e.g., foreland basin, rift basin, pull-apart basin, etc).
• Highly experienced with different scales of oil exploration: Basin—petroleum system--play—prospects.
• Highly experienced with seismic reflection data acquisition, data processing, and inversion (Part of PHD research). Good knowledge of borehole geophysics (M.Sc thesis)
• Ph.D. in geophysics (12/2008), M.Sc. in geophysics (12/2005), and M.Sc. in geology (07/1996).
• Good background in wave propagation and ray theory. Application of seismic inversion methods (generalized inverse and synthetic seismic data method) to invert for rock properties.
• Programming (Matlab and C) software to process raw VSP data and carry out 2D ray tracing.
• Strong Unix-based workstation capabilities (GeoQuest GeoFrame, Landmark OpenWorks, Seismic Unix)
• Experienced with seismic survey designing and acquisition parameters optimization.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

• Graduate Research assistant: The University of Memphis, Memphis, TN, USA. Aug/2003-Sep/2008
 Seismic data acquisition: Designed walkaway test and tested seismic sources, designed seismic reflection surveys and collected reflection data using a Geometrics Strataview seismograph (Part of Phd research); used an SH wave source to collect VSP data (Part of Master’s research).
 Seismic data processing: Used Promax to set up geometry, do velocity analysis using supergathers, do FK analysis to remove ground rolls, do Radon analysis to remove multiples.
 Seismic data inversion: Inverted for rock properties (seismic wave velocity and attenuation) using ray tracing, singular value decomposition and generalized matrix inversion techniques, and synthetic waveform modeling; used Turning ray tomography to invert for shallow velocity structure to do static corrections.
 Seismic data noise attenuation: F-K analysis; Karhunen-Loeve Transform; Tau-P transform.
 Seismic data interpretation: Interpretation of typical seismic sections from offshore TEXAS, offshore Louisiana and Wyoming overthrust belt, etc. Familiarity with structural and sequence stratigraphy in these areas.
 Software Programming: use of Matlab and C to program software to do ray tracing and carry out generalized matrix inversion.

• Exploration Geologist: Research Center, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
Beijing, China. 1996-2001
 Interpretation of seismic data establishing the structural and stratigraphic frameworks with sequence stratigraphy from well data.
 Analysis of fault system and basin sedimentary evolution, providing maps for regional and basin scale evaluation, Bozhong Sag, Bohai Bay, Offshore China.
 Study of the structural evolution of prospects to analyze hydrocarbon accumulation history by two-dimensional (2D) geometric and kinematic modeling, balancing, and restoration along with seismic interpretation.

• Exploration Geologist: Shengli Oil Field, China National Petroleum Company (CNPC). Shandong,
China, 1991-1995
 Seismic data interpretation (2D) and structural mapping, Shengli oil field, Bohai bay, onshore China
