Position Held – Manager, Regulatory Compliance & Working Environment
(Supplementary HSE and Technical Safety Responsible)
 Reporting directly to the Project Manager, formal focal point for contractual agreements and correspondence with respect to Regulatory Compliance, Classification, Verification and Certification (and Norwegian based Working Environment); and
 Externally, between SBM and the Client and Authorities, and an internal consultative role.
 Formal development of PLANC and submissions for AoC (Acknowledgement of Compliance) & AfC (Application for Consents); and coordination of European Directove compliance (PED, ATEX, SPV, MarED, MD, EMC, LVD, HVD)


SEPTEMBER 2004 – MARCH 2007: ARABIAN PIPELINE & SERVICES CO. LTD. (ANABEEB), AL-JUBAIL, KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
Position Held – Manager, Contracts Estimation & (Business) Development
(Champion for Q & HSE & Security Systematics)
 Reporting to and supporting the General Manager, in relation to the meeting Turnover (2004 – SAR 119MM; 2005 – SAR 140MM; 2006 – SAR 170MM; 2007 SAR 200MM+ expected & achieved) and attending & supporting Board Meetings and involved a large degree of independent work.
 Responsible for a 17 member team of estimators, planners and support personnel
 Business Development responsible for an existing client base and new areas & clients.
 Responsibilities and authorities extend to all activities related to the Tender and Contract processes.
 Tender and contract related economic freedom upto and including USD 1MM; major financial decisions taken in conjunction with the General Manager and other members of the Management Team; functional project sponsor activities.
 HSSEQ (including ISO 9000 certification) is championed through the continued involvement of developments in the maintenance and implementation of the company’s current systematics and working together with Heads of Department in maintaining a dynamic and developing systematics towards the future.

 Corporate Responsibilities:
• Member of the HSE monitoring, maintenance and implementation corporate systematics.

• Development, implementation and audit of Corporate Policy with regard to SOLAS (ISM & ISPS) and International / Coastal State Regulatory systematics, including emerging regions of FPSO exploitation.
 Project / tender and other responsibilities (FPSOs and Single Point Moorings / (Off)Loading Buoys):
• Review and reply to pre-qualifications, ITTs and awarded contracts; preparation of ITTs and Bid review & evaluation with respect to Regulatory Compliance agencies
• Development of Scope of work with respect to Regulatory Compliance agencies (Classification Societies, Flag State Authorities, Certification Bodies, 3rd Party Certification Agencies, Russian Design Institutes, etc.)


JUNE 2000 – JUNE 2002: ABS CONSULTING (FORMERLY ABS GROUP LIMITED), LONDON, ENGLAND. (ABS GROUP – AN AMERICAN BUREAU OF SHIPPING AFFILIATED COMPANY)
Positions Held – Country Manager, Northern Europe, Italy, Spain and Africa
 Full Budget, Revenue & Profit & Loss; Head Count 15 (excluding subcontractors); Reporting to Regional VP, EME. Contract negotiation, placement & management of projects (upto US $ 5 Millions) worldwide (regional responsible to clients), employee support – ensuring correct tools & training available - & the development of business.
 Monitor & mentor implementation & maintenance of ISO 9000 & 14000 certification; fostering Notified Body status for the PED & Simple Pressure Vessels Directives.
 ABS Group activities include certification (equipment, ISO 9000 & ISO 14000), marine, industrial & offshore sectors; &Project Management Consultancy, Engineering, Survey & Inspection Services, including;
 Regions of activity – EFTA (European Free Trade Agreement), EU (European Union), Africa & Turkey, except Greece; ex-East Block & CIS (Former Soviet Union); country projects & services monitored & managed from the London office:

DECEMBER 1994 – JUNE 2000: DNV - DET NORSKE VERITAS, (GREAT YARMOUTH, LONDON & ABERDEEN) UK
Position Held – Project Manager / Ship, MOU and CMC Surveyor
 Stationed in Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen; and seconded to Belfast. The last large project management involvement was with the conversions of the Bideford & Borgland Dolphins, conversion from accommodation to drilling semi-submersibles in Belfast at Harland & Wolff shipyard.
 The position was that of on-site project manager / surveyor. Time has been used being involved in a number of large-, medium- & small-scale projects in varying capacities of on-site & discipline, surveyor or engineer & assistant to or project manager; as well as actual practical surveying of Ships and Mobile Offshore Units in operation either in port or on location, further auditing for ISM & ISO 9000.
 At all times there was responsibility for the management of the budgets and contracts entered into. A proportion of time was always taken up co-ordinating and supporting clients. Q & HSE monitoring and implementation.


APRIL 1994 – DECEMBER 1994: ROCKWATER LIMITED, ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND
 Remotely Operated Vehicle intervention, tool handling & remote intervention technology systems, development & design (MSc Subsea Engineering placement).

 Development of software marketing strategies aimed at developers & end-users. Developing business plans and sourcing venture capital. Market research projects aimed at the generation of venture capital investment for porting innovative GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces) with systems direct from the manufactures.
