| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
As you will note from my resume, I have worked with different institutions for eight years in various aspects of logistics (that is, warehousing, procurement, communication, fuel management, fleet management, security ect.). My present employment is with an international relief organization as a GIk, Asset and Transport Manager.
As warehouse assistance (1999-2001) I was able to develop the bin and store ledger system in my institution which resulted to fast and easy storage update for reporting. With the help of my team it worked effective and efficiently.
My ascendancy as a warehouse supervisor (2001-2004) was due to hard work and success in managing the bin and store ledger card system that was introduced. In addition to supervision, I was able to create and manage a reorder level for all items in the warehouse. This coordination went well with the help of other team members.
I was also able to setup the biggest Liberian owned Supermarket (2005-2006) in which I manage a big volume of procurement, storage and costumer service.
Stay with the ambition of extending my services and gaining more knowledge I enter into the family of an international relief organization (Christian Children's Fund) as a logistics officer (2006 Aug- 2007Oct) having had other experiences in some aspects of logistics.
As a logistics officer one of my additional responsibilities was fuel management. In my location I was able to cut fuel by 20% by reinforcing log procedures for vehicles, bikes and generators where individuals are accountable for supplies received. Other responsibilities are fleet management, asset management, communication, security, warehousing, procurement ect. As a logistics officer I was able to implement the construction of two schools, one peace building hall, four women centers, one children park and a ware house in my area of operations.
As an Admin/Logistics Manager, I was able to develop ID numbers for my staffs and was also able to develop asset listing and tracking procedures.
I have the following skills: good communication, intuitive, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, problem solving and excellent leadership abilities.
I have a BA degree in Sociology from the University of Liberia which gives me an edge in relating and interacting with people of different natures. I am computer literate and have had two additional leadership trainings in Good Governance and Better Future which makes me a good team player. I have also had series of logistics training which serves as capacity building for future challenges. Currently I am doing a certificate course in Logistics to further improve my skills and efficiency. I also have basic knowledge in French. .
With these experiences I am familiar with all aspects of logistics and I hope my education and experience could make a good candidate for the position.
I would appreciate the opportunity to an interview for the position. I look forward to helping solve some procurement needs in your organization, introduce new measures, improve on others and get added knowledge.
