During these appointments I participated in operations that were executed in urban and rural counter-insurgency environment as well as other operations and gained invaluable experience, whilst progressing through the ranks to Inspector/Warrant Officer. I served in two high risk units one which specialized in first response to volatile and often violent situations(Insurgent as well as criminal) and the second to gathering of information and then reacting on it to curb violent organized crime and syndicates. For these I had to undergo formal specialized training in SWAT, Crowd Control, Penetration & Clearing techniques as well as Advanced Driving and also. I also participated in various event planning’s within my area (one of which was the Cricket World Cup planning in his area). During these my exposure enabled me to gain valuable experience in management with regard to operations, logistics, human resources, communications and financial management.
Resigned from the SA Police and started my own businesses where I further developed my managerial skills and gained valuable business acumen. I started work in Iraq during Nov 2004 as a PSD team member and quickly advanced to a PSD 2ic/team leader because of excellent leadership and operational abilities. I operated in almost the whole of Northern Iraq and Kurdistan and has travelled all the major routes. My experiences cover a period of 4yrs + of which I was appointed as a PSD 2ic and/or Team Leader for 17 months whilst serving Aegis/GRD. I joined Reed Inc in August 2006 as a PSD team member working majority in Al Anbar Province and joined EODT in July 2007 as a PSD team member with AIC(agent in charge) responsibilities as well as a driver supporting the Rusafa Law and Order project in Baghdad.
