Directional Drilling Engineer
Successfully performed Directional Drilling processes’ including projection of well path to pre-determined target coordinates for Horizontal wells.
• Accurately applied calculations using drilling surveys and Geologist feedback to drill and land build sections per customer expectations.
• Successfully drilled lateral sections in zone applying build rates and markers provided by geologist.
• Utilized Directional Drilling computer software to provide survey calculations and well path projections to the client representative.
• Assisted in the completion of daily Directional Drilling reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets and relevant paperwork (Well data spreadsheet, lesson learned/best practice, End of Job Customer Survey and Key Performance Indicator forms).
• Collaborated with the Measurement While Drilling engineer to ensure BHA compatibility and correct tool face references.
• Applied principles of BHA selection and aspects of Directional Drilling performance to ensure BHA’s were assembled safely and as planned including correct make-up torque, doping and handling.
• Prepared BHA performance reports containing detailed and accurate dimensions as well as expected versus actual performance, conclusions, and recommendations for each BHA run.
• Inspected, measured, and documented all directional related company equipment delivered to the work site and maintained records including dimensional data and condition.
• Ensured all equipment was properly laid out after use according to company procedures and manifested for backload at the end of each job.
