I am a Drilling Engineer with 11 years experience in drilling, workover and completions of vertical, horizontal and extended reach wells. I have extensive experience with extended reach drilling including drilling the world record well, multilateral drilling with smart multi-zone surface controlled completions.

Jan 2009 – Present Maersk Oil Qatar Doha, Qatar
Senior Drilling Engineer
* Deputy Head of Drilling Engineering.
* Monitor drilling performance and identify areas of improvement in development drilling activates in Al Shaheen Field, offshore Qatar (6 rigs, 40 wells per annum).
* Work with Petroleum Engineering Department to insure well target objectives are met.
* Responsible for directional drilling and logging while drilling contract (contract value over 50 mill. USD per year).
* Tendered, evaluated and awarded mud logging contract.
* Produce management progress reports.
* Review well designs, operational programs and Final Well Reports
* Mentor a pool of up to 18 Well Site Engineers, including assigning technical training, preparing work schedules and performance appraisals.

* Plan, design, program, monitor and report all drilling activity and costing of off-shore drilling on an offshore jack-up rig.
* Stand in Drilling Superintendent.
* Planning and supervising drilling of extended reach wells up to 40,320’ TD (world record well) with TVD depth ranging between 3,100’ and 3,600’ TVD.
* Planning top hole section for 20 to 40 slot platforms with slot spacing of less than 4’.
* Three reservoirs targeted in the drilling campaign (two carbonate and one sand stone).
* Drilling sand stone reservoir target with the sand varying in thickness from 1’ to 12’ with reactive shale above and below.
* Plan, design, program, monitor and report running off-bottom cemented liners or slotted liners to TD.
* Introduced SPS casing scraper equipment that allowed combining cleaning out the off-bottom cemented liner and scraping the casing prior to running completion into a single run generating a saving of over 8 mill. USD per year).
* Monitor actual cost and actual spud to handover time versus plan.

* Plan, design, program, supervise and report all drilling, workover including casing repair and casing exit re-drills, completion and recompletion activities on assigned rigs.

* On-site supervision of picking casing points.
* On-site supervision of completion running, landing and well handover to Production Department.
* Planning extended reach horizontal wells (>19,000’ DF, between 6,500’ and 8,000’ TVD)
* Experience with rotary steerable technology (Shlumberger’s PowerDrive, Xceed and Halliburton's GeoPilot)
* Sole Drilling representative in a 45 well field development plan of an unconsolidated sand formation. Well designs included multilateral well with premium sand screens, expandable sand screens and excluder sand screen.
* Introduced 9-5/8” casing reamer shoe to allow reaming casing to setting depth, reducing the frequency of pulled casing.
* Generated purchase order for 20 WellDynamics smart completions valued at over 20 mill. USD.
* Two One-year knowledge broadening assignments in Production Engineering and Reservoir Simulation.
