My experience spans the refining, petrochemical, oil & gas, LNG, industrial/medical gas production and biotechnology sectors. This varied exposure has provided me opportunities to attain extensive skills in Project Engineering/Management, team leadership, field instrumentation, process analyzers, designing and implementing control systems solutions using DCS, PLC systems and integration of the same. The Control systems platforms I have experience in are Honeywell TDC 3000, Foxboro I/A, Allen Bradley Control Logix and Emerson Delta V.

My field instrumentation experience encompasses correct selection, sizing, supervising control loop design and configuration, supervising implementation of integrated control systems, installation detail drawings, documentation and testing. I have also supported project development, design review, construction and commissioning processes extensively. I have experience with industry standards like FDA/CGMP, ISA, OSHA and ANSI to name a few. My experience includes leading R&D efforts where I was involved in aiding development of new control applications, managing capital projects and vendor liaison.

I have extensive experience in Microsoft Office tools which I have used to create presentations, reports, calculations and conceptual drawings for discussions and decision making processes. Responsible for all I&E activities on LNG, PDH, NRU projects including P&ID reviews, HAZOPS, schedules, project manpower loading, budgeting, cost control, purchasing assistance, specifications, control system philosophies, loop narratives, C&E matrices, client and vendor liaison, IC&E standardization, training and mentoring new talent.

Occidental Inc. Project/Lead Engineer – Automation & Systems Integration 02/2004 to 12/2007

Assist the Oxy Automation Technology Group (ATG) with several important initiatives.
- Perform testing and writing comprehensive documentation for RSView32, iFIX, Wonderware Intouch and Invensys IAS on Oxy proprietary Server architecture. Initiated planning, developing test plans, testing, documenting testing, installation manual, and procedures to make the installation repeatable.
- Project Manager – Initiated and managed deployment of wireless panel temperature recorders to worldwide locations. Documented software/hardware installation, reporting requirements and deployment to various Automation Technicians at company worldwide assets.
- Provided input for the company PLC spec and suggested the addition of vibration monitoring equipment as an EPL category. Developed Bently Nevada Vibration Monitoring & communication procedures to comply with company proprietary automation architecture.
- Organized and led the effort to evaluate automation software for XP SP2 compatibility. Task included identifying automation software in use throughout Oxy and determining if it is compatible with SP2. Compiled the list of over 250 software applications and organized help to begin evaluations. Identify automation software that should be supported by NetInstall. Package for NetInstall and provide license management information to IT. Negotiated and documented technical support agreements as needed.

Oxy Bravo Dome CO2 Compressor expansion project. Detailed CO2 measurement and reporting requirements. Providing I&C expertise to select and implement correct Flow Computer technology to measure and report dense phase CO2 flow for accounting and auditing purposes, vendor and technology selection, defining OPC server software requirements, assisting testing and complete documentation for successful turnover to operations.

Oxy Hobbs NGL & Conn Creek NGL facilities. Provided project team I&C expertise for a grass-roots NGL Plant. Provided guidance and assistance to EPC Contractor and System Integrator for delivery of Delta V DCS meeting Oxy Automation Standards. Responsible for all Automation related project activities including assisting and guiding development of major process equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, instrument technology selections,

HAZOP, approval and FAT of Allen Bradley PLC & Delta V DCS control systems. Completely and successfully turned over project to an ATG group member to continue with the project after FEED.

PLC change management system at Oxy Elk Hills. Responsible to select and implement and Pilot a PLC Change Management Software (CMS) – Initiated planning, testing, documented requirements, developed an RFP and pre-qualified the vendors. Based on the pilot results, developed a deployment plan for the rest of Oxy worldwide assets, including best practices in using and administering the system. Tested and documented installation of software on the server stack, communicated with Elk Hills, assisted in vendor selection, evaluated software and installation requirements. Developed RFPs for pilot and worldwide installations, compiled and evaluated project costs for worldwide locations and negotiated requirements with the selected vendor.

Steam Injection EOR Project, Mukhaizna ,Oman. Assisted in the communications take-over from PDO and evaluated the Foxboro I/A DCS for operations. Provided I&C expertise for project FEED on equipment specifications and EPC scopes or work. Assisted in developing automation network architecture, project specifications for Process Control, ESD, FGS and Automation Systems Integration scope of work. Providing guidance to FEED contractor.

As Lead Engineer provided guidance, support and supervision of EPC contractors to develop scopes of work for the Automation (Process, ESD, FGS) and Networking systems related to Central Oil Processing Facility, Satellite Gathering facilities, Early Thermal project, MVC Water treatment plant, Solar Gas Turbine Generators, Once Through and Heat Recovery Steam generators, LACT & Proving Skids, Existing Facility De-bottlenecking project, migration of the legacy Foxboro I/A DCS system to Oxy standard SCADA architecture, facility wide well automation, Viscosity metering, Import/Export and Interconnecting pipelines, Heater Treaters, Power and Energy Management Systems, Ethernet Radio and Fiber Optic networking, SCADA and HMI deployments. Roles included assisting in developing control systems narrative, C&E matrices, implementing Oxy standard automation architecture for the complete facility, selection and standardization of correct field instrument technologies, approving instrument installation details, deploying PLC standards for configuration and HMI development, installation methods, testing (FAT/SAT procedures), developing Control System & Interfacing Scopes of Work for all EPC contractors and skid vendors and system integrators, reviewing and approving technical documents (P&IDs, instrument Specification sheets, network drawings, FDS, C&E matrices, quotes, TBE’s, etc.), direct award recommendations, liaison with vendors, cross discipline team members and Oxy purchasing departments, participating in HAZOPs, SIL/SIS studies, participating in System FAT/SAT and site commissioning, deployment of SCADA and HMI on Oxy proprietary automation architecture and servers.

Shell gathering platform WD-143 Heat Exchanger Addition, Shell gathering platform ST-292 Automation Project, Shell gathering platform SS-207 Natural Gas Compressor Expansion Project. Providing I&C expertise for addition of heat exchanger servicing the Glycol Slug retention vessel and to convert existing pneumatic controls to PLC controls with pneumatic backup, with solar and wind turbine power. Responsible for all project activities, including specifications for

all smart inline instrumentation, control valves, flow metering, smart transmitters, panel design, wiring, approving instrument installation details, instrument &control system functional specifications, loop diagrams, SAFE charts, Fire
and Gas detection equipment, offshore construction scope, schedules, vendor and client contact. Assisted in configuration of Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC, and Wonderware HMI.

Enterprise/Formosa/Dean Pipeline Upgrade Project. Responsible for specifying all in-line instrumentation, Motor Operated Valves, Electro-hydraulic actuated control valves, control valves, smart transmitters and Turbine flow meters, approving related instrument installation details. Responsible for all Panel drawings, wiring drawings, Loop diagrams, PLC (SLC 5/04) hardware design, selection of I/O modules, selection of hardware for spread spectrum Radio communications and all project documentation.

Sigma-Genosys Senior Engineer, ESD Lead 06/2000 to 06/2001

Responsible for supervising six department personnel, developing responsibility assignment matrix, department procedures and delegating tasks.
Lead standardization of plant wide control system using Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC, engineering project documentation, configuration. Provided training and guidance to engineering and technical personnel. Leading R&D efforts for developing new platforms for high throughput synthesis of Oligo-neucleotides (synthetic DNA) using off the shelf high-speed material handling and vision systems. Freeport Hydrogen/Carbon Monoxide Plant Reliability Improvement Project. Responsible for all control system related activities as required for installation of CO Recycle and Storage compressors, CO temporary backup system, Hydrogen purification skid and Amine filtration skid. Developed recommendations to meet plant safety requirements of OSHA 1910, and ANSI/ISA S-84 standards. Assisted Plant Management to meet plant reliability and operability requirements. Responsible for improving PLC/HMI communication and Instrumentation/Control System for a new 6 stage pure Hydrogen compressor, and clean up system. Specified new PCs for Operator workstations, installing Windows NT, Wonderware 7.0, and importing all existing graphic packages to the new machines.

Beaumont ASU and Bayport ASU Nitrogen Compressor DCS Configuration. Responsible for developing Control System specification, graphics standards, and all documentation required satisfying FDA/CGMP requirements. Complete scope of work included installation of Control system for Nitrogen compressor, automation of existing Booster Compressors, integration of existing FES chiller with the plant Control System, and automation of existing plant export pipeline system. Supervised all instrumentation and control system activities for above projects being performed by contractors.
