In Abroad
(a) Working in an international (offshore) marine company engaged in laying of pipeline related to Oil & Gas industry in UAE as Stores Officer. Portfolio deals with the following responsibilities:
(i) To supervise issue & receipt of material as per delivery orders from suppliers, preparation of material receipt note.
(ii) Issue of material to company’s own barges on transfer note.
(iii) To lead the team of storekeepers on being deployed at barge and ensure smooth functioning of store section & to give proper feed back to head of department.
(iv) To initiate non-conformance report for wrong receipt.
(v) Ensure correct maintenance of kardex (inventory) cards.
(vi) Carry out random & annual stock taking of inventory.
(vii) Carry out Barge wise & main store annual review of inventory & fixation of minimum & maximum maintenance figures in accordance to previous consumption data.
(viii) To assist Head of material department and to interact & coordinate other departments of company for smooth functioning of material department e.g. administration, quality, HSE, engineering & operation etc.
(ix) Preparation of all report returns for perusal of President through Head of material department.
(x) To carry out all type of correspondence & monitor of proper handing taking of storekeepers while going on vacation etc.
(b) Worked in Galfar Engineering & Contracting Co (SAOG) multinational ISO Company of Oman at PDO (Petroleum Development Oman) project working as material controller. My responsibilities included the following:
The overall in-charge for the Store Section (Stores, Store Keepers & other employees).
To maintain liaison with Head Office & Central Stores to get speedy receipt of materials & other connected documents for approval formalities of material from PDO authorities through QA/QC rep.
To ensure proper maintenance of records & as per company policy and audit requirements.
Personally monitor Items of High cost or Assets.
To adhere & follow HSE rules.
To monitor incoming projects item till physical receipt of store and to conduct necessary inspection in force.
(c) Another experience to work in Oman, in Hasan Juma Backer Trading & Contracting Co. LLC (an ISO 9002) as Stores cum Logistics Officer & Sites Administrator (Portfolio exercised by Asst. Manager (Logistics & Administration) previously for entire sites of the company for 15 months reporting to General Manager / MD:
Overall in-charge for all store keepers, camp bosses & cooks (46+4+20), their welfare, training, posting & transfers etc.
Induction Training of storekeeper & camp bosses so as to familiar them about the rules & regulations of the company.
Pre-audit of site expense vouchers.
Monitoring movement of Project & Assets items within the company.
To look after complete hiring of accommodation (H.O., Staff single accommodation, Site accommodation, consultant accommodation etc.), execution of Tenancy agreement & payment of rental till vacation of the accommodation.
Final disposal steel scrap & other wastages at site.
Looking after water management, purchases, agreement & other formalities.
To co-ordinate with PDO authorities for supply of diesel, lubricants etc. as per rate contract and to ensure timely supply of these items at site locations.
To co-ordinate Insurance Officer for early settlement of claims.
To conduct frequent visits to camps & projects at least 3-4 a week to ensure smooth functioning.
Other duties assigned by GM / MD.
(d) Worked at In-charge of 4 four camps in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for 6 months in Al Fara’a Group of Companies & left the job due to some domestic problem.
In India
I have been retired from Ordnance services of Indian Army (AOC) that is responsible to provide stores & equipments to the entire Indian Army other than medicine & food. The Corps has its own training centre & (CMM) college of material management to impart training to its recruits & young officers. The refresher courses are conducted to upgrade courses to revise the Grade & for the purpose of promotion. Corps has established its small detachment to Big Depots. During the period of 15.7 years of services, I promoted up to Grade-I Store Keeper for 15.7 years. During the period of service, I enabled to work in following faculties:
Basic training to learn Discipline & positive attitude, teamwork and handling security matters, physical fitness fire fighting, weapons etc. And trade training where we did diploma in material management.
Purchase department (Sample room & store related office work.
Worked in Central Depot, divisional units (including Technical Store Section with workshop etc) for receipt of consignments and issue as per laid down procedures. Carried out inventory analysis’s ABC, FNS etc.
Administration, Moral & motivation, command & control over the sub-ordinates.
