| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Dear Sir / Madam
Please find attached my Curriculum Vitae. As you will see my main expertise lies within the marine and diving industry and generally offshore; I am currently seeking work in diving/ROV operations/rigging or in some other deck capacity.
I am fit and active and now have very broad experience in marine engineering, both in a practical and managerial capacity. I come from a family of master mariners and marine engineers. I believe I have an in-depth knowledge and certainly a great deal of experience in this type of work (also a time served welder).
I work well as a team player, either as a manager or subordinate but I work equally well alone and can be relied upon to carry out work efficiently.
My medical and certificates are up to date, I look forward to hearing from you.

| 2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory] |
MARINE ENGINEER 1978-1984
3 years employed by BP Shipping at Leith Nautical College leading to the award of Scotvec OND in marine engineering, working as a cadet. I was then working mainly in the oil and towing industry on tugs, dredgers, crane barges and for a short time on fishing boats. I was working on many of these vessels as Second or Chief Engineer (full charge of machinery) In the main working with large marine diesel engines. In addition to responsibility for machinery, my employment would include repair work, welding and fabricating.
COMMERCIAL DIVER 1984-1993
On civil engineering projects, MOD Contracts and oil related maintenance contracts, welding, cutting and other underwater engineering, including inspection and salvage operations. For the majority of contracts as well as diving I was given responsibility for the running of machinery involved with dive support, eg compressors, pumps and winches.
MANAGING DIRECTOR / TUG MASTER / DIVER 1993-2008
Working mainly with crew boats and multi-purpose tug boats, our Company began supplying marine services to the Klondyking fleet in Loch Broom in Ullapool; services included supply of ships’ stores, repairs, fishery and customs contracts, crew running, waste removal, craneage etc. These contracts were for three years. When the Klondyking contracts finished Mackenzie Marine worked as the main marine contractors supplying vessels running crew boats in the River Forth, to the construction of a BP VLCC terminal.
Other contracts continued in the way of general towing (UK/European waters), seabed levelling, dredge and jack-up support. More recent contracts supporting the erection of renewable energy installation, for instance the first offshore wind turbines in UK and Sweden for contractor AMEC. As the owner and operator of an Offshore Hyball carried onboard our vessels, I often used this for various reasons, jack-up leg inspection, cable-laying and client inspections of newly erected wind turbines.
