• Fifteen years experience in Australian Military, first nine years posted to an Infantry Battalion with the last 6 years posted to Special Forces (SAS) employed as a field operator.
• Employed in the commercial security industry, as a Security Technical Advisor, where I managed a security force of national employee dedicated to the protection of high risk assets at the world’s largest open cut gold and copper mine in West Papua, Indonesia.

• Devilment and implementation of security appreciation processes to corporate level for the understanding of security operations and the risks and threats involved. Security procedures written to compliance, company policies and international standards.

• Conduct Security services and anti piracy services in Malacca Straits and the Gulf of Aden.

• Lead Instructor for HUET training for Oil Search Limited (OSL). Comprisong of both theory and practical lessons in accordance with OSL company policy and HUET standards.

• Conducting security and vulnerability assessment of the Marine base in Batam, Indonesia. The writing of Standard Operating Procedures in both English and Bahasa for the guarding force. Implementation of the SOP’s via hands on training and realistic scenarios.

• Providing security and vulnerability assessments. The training of 120 crew members in anti-piracy and piracy suppression techniques. The implantation and writing of Standard Operating Procedures to compliment the Ship Security Plan. To provide a safe passage through dangerous waters. To promote security awareness and vigilance through realistic training scenarios in a safe manner without effecting daily operations.

• Employed as the in country manager in Karachi for the initial setup and daily running of security operations for Expatriate VIP’s.

Operations Manager – Maritime Security and Anti- Piracy
• Command security details in offshore maritime security to suppress and deter any anti-piracy acts against clients and to develop and implement security plans and procedures to assist in this process. To understand offshore operations and ship to shore procedures to prevent time lost for the client in a high professional manner. Responsible for the reporting and day-to-day liaising and administration whilst on duty and passing on timely information back to land elements.

July 2004 – June 2005
Security manager – Gold and Copper concentrating facility

• Manage a staff of 30 national employees tasked to protect high value assets at the world’s largest gold processing facility in Irian Jaya Indonesia. The position requires the design and implementation of Security procedures, security systems and the day-to-day administration and on the job training of national staff in an arduous and hazardous environment. Responsible for implementing and maintaining management and safety systems that are auditable, transparent and hold personnel accountable. This position requires well-developed analytical and planning skills and well as tolerance to deal with cultural sensitive issues and performance targets.

2003 – Jul 2004
Australian Defence Department: Acting Team Leader, Hostage Recovery Team
• Command, train and lead a team of Special Forces soldiers in the absence of the team commander during training and operations in dangerous environments. Assist in the development, analysis and production of operational security based plans for military operations. I was responsible for the coordination of military and civilian assets and briefing of personnel to assist operation outcomes. Assist in the preparation and briefing of senior management, government officials and heads of state on the conduct and capabilities of the response force.

2002 - 2003
Australian Defence Department: Acting Patrol Commander
• Assist in the Training, planning and commanding of a team of up to 10 personnel in emergency security operations using advanced military, equipment and procedures. These operations were based on the Special Forces Appreciation and Analysis process and covered such areas as Asset protection, Access control, Surveillance and information analysis both from a point of defeating these systems and the design of systems.

1999 - 2002
Australian Defence Department: Team Member.
• A member of a Special Forces team required to conduct military operations beyond the scope of conventional military and government agencies. This position required the successful completion of a rigorous selection course and training on start of the art military security equipment. As a Special Forces team member I was under constant scrutiny and was required to perform to a high level on both operations and training. On overseas deployment I worked and trained host nation military personnel and deployed to areas where I was responsible to provide village medical and health assistance and security advice as part of a team.

1994 – 1998
Team Commander: Infantry Reconnaissance Team.
• Command and train and administer a specialist information gathering team in both a field and urban environment with a high level of autonomy. Under command and reporting to the Field Commander; who would use this information to develop, plan and execute operations involving up to 700 personnel. These operations would caver such areas as Vital Asset Protection, Security and evacuation of civilian personnel and control of civilian infra structure in a low level conflict.
