1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

A thoroughly trained and experienced ship’s master and maritime professional with 25 years of unblemished service and demonstrated abilities in all phases of commercial maritime operations and management on numerous vessel types operating in waters around the globe.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

- Fully versed and accomplished in global navigation, communications, single and twin screw shiphandling, port and
customs entry, supervision of hull and deck machinery maintenance and repair programs including drydockings,
conversions and major overhauls, oversight of USCG and ABS surveys and inspections, insuring
compliance with regulations of federal, state and international bodies (SOLAS, MARPOL, etc…) and the
management & direct supervision of ship's crewmembers.
- Ship management experience encompassing operations expense budgeting, the use of computers in vessel
administration, implementation of hiring and training programs for shipboard personnel, preparation of bids and pro-
forma statements, establishment of vessel safety and maintenance programs including ISM Safety Management &
ISPS Shipboard Security .
- Dry cargo background with the stowage and handling of all manner breakbulk, containerized, refrigerated and rolling
cargoes including military ammunition and explosives, the preparation of stowage plans and manifests, the operation
and maintenance of most types of deck machinery and cargo handling equipment and the direct supervision of
longshore personnel.
- Extensive experience with major vessel conversions and refits playing roles in design from conceptual phase to final
working drawings, specification of machinery, navigation, communications, positioning, deck machinery and safety
systems, vendor selection, preparation of bid solicitation documents and obtaining final certification with both class
and flag state.
- Experienced in offshore deepwater ROV, subsea & drilling operations with the use of Kongsberg class 2 & 3
Dynamic Positioning systems in those operating environments. Experienced on both semisubmersible and ship type
drilling platforms with working familiarity with special regulatory requirements for same. Participant in DP system design,
specification, selection, commissioning and FMEA process.
- Experienced as master of vessels towing, petroleum, LPG and dry cargo barges in ocean, coastal and inshore
waters (endorsed as master of ocean towing vessels).
- Experienced as master of several other vessel types such as large fisheries, research, hydrographic survey passenger
cruise, expedition and ferries.


3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]

- Licensed by the USCG as ocean master of steam and motor vessels of any gross tons with full STCW ’95 certification
- Certified as an Unlimited Dynamic Positioning Operator by the Nautical Institute.
- A 1984 graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY with a B.Sc. degree in Nautical Science

- First sailed as Master at age 27 of a 210', 1320grt fish processing ship operating in Alaska's Bering Sea with
65 person crew. Later sailed as master of 340’ processing ship with 180 total pob.
- Chief mate on several Ready Reserve Force merchant ships supplying and supporting the US Armed Forces in
Operations Desert Shield/Storm transporting armor, transport vehicles, aircraft, containers and ammunition.
- Master of several other notable vessels including a 3800grt US flag breakbulk merchant cargo vessel PEMBINA
carrying ammunition and sensitive weaponry for the Military Sealift Command operating between US and allied bases
throughout the Pacific Ocean area (1993-1995)
- Served as project captain of the ocean survey vessel MT. MITCHELL during her life extension refit in 2003 in Port
Arthur, TX and then continued as her master commanding her on several missions since including a deep ocean
sidescan sonar search for the wreck of Amelia Earhart’s plane during the period January through May of 2006.
- A perfect safety record with zero accidents, spills, injuries nor cited in any action taken or penalty levied by a
regulatory body against a vessel or company by which employed.
