| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am very interested to see your listing at oil-offshore-marine.com. I am confident that I could make a valuable contribution, using my experience as a Schlumberger Senior Field Engineer. I have been looking for an opportunity like this, and I think my background and your requirements may be a good match. I have attached my resume for you to review.
Since February of 2005, I have been working with Schlumberger as a Field Engineer. The program at Schlumberger is quite demanding, and I believe that it prepares one very well for work anywhere in the petroleum industry. As a Schlumberger engineer, I have completed three PEPTEC training schools, as well as self-learned and learned through experience many other concepts relating to well logging and well analysis. These PEPTEC schools are accelerated learning programs that taught me how to absorb very large amounts of information in a very short period of time. Thanks to my experiences at these schools, I feel that I would be able to learn concepts at a new position within the industry just as quickly.
In December of 2004, I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The engineering program at University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign is also very intensive and provided me with many valuable hands-on experiences as well as extensive classroom knowledge. Again, and most importantly though, is the fact that high-level academic agendas in college teach one how to learn a lot of information in a little time. These experiences gave me the skills needed to attack new challenges with diligence and confidence. I excelled through the Schlumberger training process and have earned two promotions thus far, and I am confident that, if given the chance, I can do the same again.
