After initially serving an apprenticeship as a Caulker/Burner in the shipbuilding industry I have since spent the last 13 years working both onshore and offshore in the oil and gas industry as a Store man then Materials Controller. During this time I have gained valuable experience in all aspects of material control, from receipt, safe storage through to allocation and final dispatch.
In dealing with the day to day receipts and issue of materials required for construction, one of the key skills required is the ability to accurately read and understand isometric drawings or job cards, and allocate materials accordingly .
I have worked on many projects including, Shearwater, Shell Bonga, and more recently I have been part of the offshore materials team for the Britannia Satellite Project. I am a hard worker, reliable, honest and a good team player whom is always willing to help others.
Recently I have been employed as an Offshore Materials Controller for Amec on the final commissioning stage of the Britannia Satellite Project. I have been with the project since the sail away from Hartlepool in 2006 until project completion in October 2008 My key roles are the management, control and issue of all work-pack related materials for piping, electrical & instrumentation.
Also receipt, safe storage and allocation of all air and sea-freight manifests, including any items required for backload.
