Extensive and diversified maritime experience while working as a Merchant Marine Deck Officer for Military Sealift Command, and Mate for Moran Towing of Pennsylvania. Excellent interpersonal skills. · Served as Sonar Technician aboard USS KIRK FF-1087 and USS STERETT CG-31
MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND 1996-2006
· 1996-2000 Responsible for Explosive Cargo Handling Team while loading and discharging both containerized and palletized ordnance ensuring the cargo was compatible and safely stowed aboard the ships holds. Supervised Rig Teams conducting connected Underway Replenishment with United States Naval Warships during Battle Group Operations.
· 2001 -2006 As 3rd Officer aboard Fleet tugs, Naval Combat Fast Stores Supply ships, Naval Tanker ship's and Naval Ammunition ship's ensured that the Standing Order's, Master's Order's, Captain's Night Order's and all Coast Guard regulations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

from 2001-2005. Responsible for training all personnel for quick response and defense in the event of a CBRD incident.

SUMMARY: In general; I have participated in the loading, off loading, load adjust, and have overseen the transfer both inport and at sea of tens of thousands of pallets of bombs, missiles, small arms, and all different types of Ordnance aboard the USNS Kilauea, USNS Flint, USNS KISKA, and USNS SHASTA ensuring all Cargo was moved in a Safe and Efficient manner without incident, keeping a careful eye on Stability, Compatibility, and a sharp lookout to prevent overstowage.
KNOWLEDGE OF CURRENT NAVIGATION METHODS AND EQUIPMENT.
As a Watch Officer aboard various MSC vessels from August 2001-March 2006, and a Mate aboard Moran harbor tugs from September 2008-April 2009 I have accumulated a comprehensive knowledge of navigation equipment operating modes, characteristics, capabilities, and limitations which includes ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, and recognizing navigational instrumentation errors.
Before assuming the watch I perform a detailed checklist ensuring all Radar's are aligned and in the proper range scale in accordance with safe navigation practice. I ensure that the AIS, GMDSS suite, ECDIS, Course recorder, VHF radio's, Fathometer, Navtex, GPS systems ore on line. I read the Master's Standing/Night order's and ensure they are being implemented. I ensure all visual and radar contacts are duly noted and CPA's are known. I ensure that all charts in use are corrected to the latest Notice to Mariners. While on watch I get an Azimuth at the first opportunity to check for Ship's Gyro Error. I make sure that all meteorological information including additional reports during heavy weather is collected in a timely, accurate, and completely through manner. I ensure the safe transit of the vessel with a deep understanding of the Rules of the Road and when to apply them.
