1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am currently employed as a Project Manager / Tactical Medic / PSD Team Leader in Kandahar, Afghanistan. I am responsible for managing a Personal Security Detail to escort high value clients throughout the area. My duties involve the selection, equipping, training, and maintaining records for the PSD team. Submitting reports to the client on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. These reports include security/risk assessments, mission briefs, and activity records. I have been intimately involved with the preventative and emergency medical treatment of our employees and clients. Training in emergency medical procedures and safety / prevention of injuries to our staff has been a high priority in my duties. I regularly participate in convoy operations to transport clients to work areas in and around Kandahar.
I am a retired Trooper III, Texas Department of Public Safety, previously stationed in Caldwell, Bowie, and Nocona, Texas. Recognized as a hard working conscientious employee with a positive attitude. Involved with the successful training of several probationary troopers in the field. Trained in cultural diversity and commended for public contacts when dealing with others. Worked closely with drug task forces, DPS Narcotics Service, DPS Criminal Intelligence, DPS Motor Vehicle Theft Service, and other state, local and federal agencies on criminal interdiction. Served on DPS Dive Recovery Team as a diver / medic. Deployed to many part of the state for recovery operations. Awarded by DPS and Austin PD for work done during a dive operation in Austin. Have used my medical training and experience as an EMT on a civilian ambulance, as a combat medic in the U.S. Army, and as a diver / medic for the DPS. Deployed with Civil Disturbance Management Team for security during Presidential visits. Deployed during hurricane Rita for evacuation of Galveston and Houston, and security in Port Arthur, Texas. Have participated in many convoy and air operations throughout the Afghan theatre of operations. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

U.S. Protection and Investigations, October 2008 – Present
Program Manager / Tactical Medic / PSD Team Leader

As a Program Manager, my responsibilities include:

 Selecting, equipping, and training PSD team members and static guards
 Maintaining personnel, training, and financial records for team members
 Liaise with military and civilian intelligence assets to establish risk assessments for missions
 Liaise with local Afghan commanders on matters pertaining to security and the LN guard force
 Coordinate with clientele to plan, execute, and report on all missions
 Report to clientele on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis the security situation, risk assessments, and mission briefs.

Additionally, I provide medical care to fellow team members, support staff, local national and third country national staff, and contracting clients. Maintain medical supplies and coordinate all resupply as needed. Provide medical training to all staff to the level of Combat Lifesaver. Participate in convoys and provide medical support of the mission. Liaise with military medical assets and coordinate support and Medevac. Act as PSD Team Leader on convoy operations to include planning and execution to complete the mission successfully. Maintain patient records and ensure that preventative medical measures are employed for the health and welfare of the unit.

Assigned to Adraskan National Training Center in Herat Provence of Afghanistan as a Police Advisor. Responsible for the training of Afghan National Police ANCOP students in basic and advanced combat medical techniques, tactical operations, basic and advanced police procedures, and rules of law.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:

 Establish and maintain personnel records for assigned students
 Conduct training in comprehensive 16 week program
 Provide logistical, health, and welfare support to students
 Administer written and practical exams for all training
 Maintain detailed training records
 Administer and document all disciplinary action required

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Advanced knowledge of police methods, state traffic and criminal laws and regulations, departmental policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations, court systems and procedures.

Additional duties include:
Dive Recovery Team – Provide underwater search and recovery for evidence, property, and bodies using surface supplied and scuba diving equipment. The Dive Recovery Team is also responsible for swift water rescue of victims. Served as team medic responsible for monitoring divers for any type of illness or injury prior to, during, and after each dive. Deployed many times around the state and in the Gulf of Mexico.

Civil Disturbance Management Team – Provide crowd control at campus disorders, labor disorders, urban demonstrations and disturbances, and disaster scene control. The Civil Disturbance Management Team has been deployed several times to provide heightened security for Presidential visits. Deployed for disaster scene control and security during hurricane Rita.

Worked as a tool and die maker in a manufacturing plant producing turbine components for jet engines. Responsible for construction and maintenance of precision gauges, fixtures, and injection molds for the production floor. Ordering all tooling and gauges to manufacture the parts. Developing a manufacturing process to meet the customer’s specifications and monitoring this process to assure that quality standards are met.

Served in Company Headquarters as S-3 Air. Responsible for coordination of all assets in support of air operations. Worked closely with operational detachments to ensure that all equipment and support for each airborne operation was coordinated.
