CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madam,

With the firm belief that I can meet and exceed job expectations, I am applying for the position of Drilling Engineer within your company.

At present, I am a skilled and dedicated Drilling Engineer currently working with Canadian Superior on the Kan-Tan IV semi-submersible rig in Trinidad. I have 6 years experience in the industry and have built a solid foundation on my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

I am seeking a similar position to expand and diversify my skill set in my career path to becoming a competent Drilling Engineering Manager / Drilling Superintendent.

I believe that if I am employed by your organisation, I would bring a focus on quality and efficiency. I work well with others and I pay keen attention to detail and deadlines.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Semi-Submersible Operations: Kan Tan IV (Three Well Exploration Programme)

Canadian Superior, May 2007 – Present:

- Generate the 5-day forecast and manage boats / equipment and people logistics.
- Produce casing tallies and cementing calculations.
- Generate / update an opportunities register for improving operational efficiency.
- Provided engineering input into daily operations: hydraulics, kick tolerance, cavings rate monitoring, trip sheets, and bit records.

- Develop drilling programmes along with well design team.
- Source and manage rig equipment as required.
- Generate Cost Projection Estimates.
- QA/QC contractor’s equipment preparations. E.g. Liner hangers etc.
- Develop Liner Hanger and Well Suspension Programmes.
- Develop End Of Well Reports.
- Capture and carrying out lessons learned successfully to next wells.
- Contribute to the development of DST Programmes.

Participated in the review and implementation of changes required to improve drilling hydraulics and hole cleaning efficiency in the 8-1/2in hole sections. This included changing out from 5” to 6-5/8” DP, modifying drilling fluid rheologies and bit TFA configuration as well as drilling parameters. The outcome of this project resulted in better hole cleaning capability, fewer wiper trips, increased penetration rates and ultimately the saving of time and well cost.

Performed drilling efficiency study with bits and parameters used for drilling the HPHT exploration deep water wells (>17,000ft) off the east coast of Trinidad in the Columbus Basin. This data was utilized to improve drilling efficiency in drilling the final Endeavour-1 well’s primary target. The implementation of the findings generated from the project yielded an increase in bit longevity and resulted in fewer bit trips. This meant that the hole was not left open for prolonged periods of time in the reservoir section, therefore reducing the risk of developing wellbore instability.

Jack-Up Operations: Nabors 657 (Shallow Water Development Programme)

BHP Billiton, June 2004 – May 2007:
Junior Drilling Engineer / Offshore Drilling Engineer

- Prepare DIMS/Open Wells Daily Drilling Reports.
- Produce casing tallies and cementing calculations.
- Supervise casing and cementing operations and design calculations for same.
- Cost tracking and reports.
- Generate Work Instructions for all rig and service contractors.

- Preparing Drl-2,
- Produce End of Well Reports
- QA/QC service liner tool assemblies
- Presenting End of Well Section Reviews
- Assist senior drilling engineer with drilling programs and well planning (BHA design, platform and BOP space outs, Bit Selection, Loadout Lists preparation, pressure test schedules etc).

Conducted Bit Performance study for PDC bits utilized in the Development’s Main oil reservoir: Angostura Sands with UCS >12000psi. Presented findings to team and utilized the project data for remainder of development project. The outcome resulted in reduced drilling time and significant cost savings.

Participated in the review and installation of a 15K Choke and Kill Manifold package to work in conjunction with the rig’s existing 10K system used drill HP exploration wells. This included the development of the pressure test schedule and modified well control procedures for the use this system. The implementation of this properly planned and executed project allowed the HP wells to be drilled with a thorough well control system. The rig personnel were well informed and made competent; via instruction and diagrams, in operating the new equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

The drilling campaign that I am involved in has ended and I am available for new opportunities.

I possess qualifications and experiences in Jack Up (Shallow Water) and Semi-Sub (Deep Water) in the areas of Drilling Engineering (Office Based) and Wellsite Operations (Offshore) for both development and exploration type wells.

I do believe that this experience and qualifications would be a strong asset to any operations.

My most recent experiences within a small scale organization at Canadian Superior, has allowed me to enhance leadership skills and develop my unsupervised project delivery capabilities. Advances in these areas have now increased my capabilities to adapt to any organization, situation and locations and to deliver quality work within job profile. Further to this, my engineering knowledge in well planning in association to the practical experiences in well delivery which I gained in the offshore drilling operations have both developed and enhanced my acquired skills.
