MANUFACTURE OF BIO-PESTICIDE(Parthenin)
Basic Information :
Parthenin can be used as Pesticides, Rodenticide, and Insecticide, we manufactured it using Congress weed which is considered as a threat to the plant life.
The entire setup of this Experiment was Designed in the College Laboratory and is still in use for further studies on the Congress Weed Properties. Parthenin was extracted from Congress weed using four different Chemicals namely Methyl-Alcohol, Ethyl Alcohol, Acetic Acid and Chloroform with different flow rates. The extraction process was carried out in a Soxhlet Extractor and a Packed Bed and the results of the Experiments concluded that the Mass transfer Coefficient of Soxhlet Extraction was greater than the Packed Bed for all four Solvents.
