 VARIOUS HAND POWER TOOLS, Electric Hand Drills, Angle Grinders, Belt Sanders, Jig Saws, Cut-Off Saw,

WORK EXPERIENCE:
 Spent 3 years in workshop manufacturing items from samples or engineering drawings
 Doing repairs / maintenance work, be it in-house or in the field.
 Was then promoted to shop fitting section, took over section and managed a team of ± 20 staff (2 years).
 After successfully growing section to its full capacity, was then promoted to the position of PROJECT MANAGER (3 years).
DUTIES AS PROJECT MANAGER:
 Overseeing of projects pertaining to building up grades, building maintenance, mechanical fabrication and installation and corporate signage.
 Getting quotes in from sub-contractors.
 Overseeing procurement of materials to be used on project.
 Compiling of total and final quote of project before it is submitted for approval, making sure project is within budget
 Be responsible for safety and discipline, on site.
 Make sure all working drawings are correct and approved.
 Track progress and report back via weekly progress meetings to Senior Management.
 Be responsible for quality checks in conjunction with the quality control.
 Be responsible for handing over of site or installation after completion.

Resigned November 1995.

REASON FOR LEAVING: Started my own small business, supplying Building Contractors with all their Hardware needs, special stainless steel bolts, U bolts, Hand Tools, Power Tools and any special engineering requirements they might have needed. Sourced the product then supplied.
This I did till December 2000, I was not able to compete against the bigger companies anymore.

COMPANY: APEX Distributors
DURATION: Jan. 2001 to June 2002
DUTIES: Sales Rep. FMCG, supplying the lower end of the trade, Garage Forecourts and Liquor Outlets. Products included Ceres brand, Bromor Foods, Lutzville Wines, Van Loveren Wines, Various Mineral Waters (Valpre, Karoo, Aquelle) and various other goods. Area ranged from Southern Suburbs to West Coast and up the N7 till Piketburg. My monthly turnover averaged ± R 450 000 and higher in the Festive seasons, ± R 650 000. Was responsible for in store Merchandising and Promotions.
REASON FOR LEAVING: Was offered position at Duram Products, much better prospects (Company Car & Petrol & Cell Phone).

COMPANY: DURAM PRODUCTS (PTY) LTD
DURATION: July 2002 to End November 2005
DUTIES: Sales Representative for Waterproofing & Special Coating products to the retail trade. Sales function included servicing of customers on a regular call cycle, in store merchandising and stock control where needed, looking for new customers. Resolve Customer queries, on-site and in-store training. Was responsible for the whole West Coast, N7 from Malmesbury to Springbok / Port Nolith, Northern Cape (Loeriesfontein to Upington, Askam, Hotazhel, down to De Aar to Beaufort West), Worcester, De Doorns, and Robertson. Basically had to manage own area.
REASON FOR LEAVING: I was made an offer by Medal Paints, which resulted in me leaving.




COMPANY: MEDAL PAINTS
DURATION: November 2005 to February 2008
DUTIES: Sales Rep for Waterproofing & Paint products to the retail trade. Sales function included servicing of customers on a regular call cycle, in store merchandising and stock control where needed, looking for new customers, grow customer base. Resolve Customer queries, on-site and in-store training. Was responsible for the whole West Coast, N7 from Malmesbury to Springbok, Southern Suburbs / Peninsula, Somerset West through to Hermanus & Gaansbaai on to Swellendam.
Basically had to manage own area.
REASON FOR LEAVING: Had an opportunity to run an agency for a JHB based company in Cape Town?

COMPANY: Plus Ten Distributors
DURATION: March 2008 to June 2008
DUTIES: Sales Agent for Hardware and Power tools to the retail trade. Sales function included servicing of customers on a regular call cycle, in store merchandising and stock control where needed, looking for new customers, grow customer base and manage own area (whole of the Western Cape).
REASON FOR LEAVING: Poor backup and support, inferior power tools all resulted in very little confidence in the trade. Resistance to JHB based companies supplying to Cape Town, 2 to 3 days or longer and there was a minimum Rand Value to each order. Cape Town based companies same day or next day delivery with no minimum Rand Value for orders.

COMPANY: Interlude Marketing
DURATION: August 2008 to Present
DUTIES: OPC (Off Premise Consultant) Manager, supervise a team of 6 to 12 consultants in the field. Be responsible for their safety, motivation; make sure daily targets are obtained. Responsible for all monies (cash) when working in the country.
