1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I was working as a Technical Manager and have 22 years of sailing experience on various ocean going vessels and have been based on shore having been promoted twice, in a span of three years. I am presently looking to further my career with a growth-oriented firm that will allow me to utilize my knowledge and experience.

I am a Singapore Citizen and have all the relevant certificates of all information stated in my resume with me.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

WORK EXPERIENCE:
2006-To April 2009: Technical Manager/Assistant Technical Manager.

Took over as the Technical Manager on 1st of October 2008.

a) Was transferred to the newly opened "Singapore Office", as an "Assistant Technical Manager", on 1st July 2006. The Singapore office operates a fleet of 12 ships, "Type 3"-53, 000 DWT Chemical tankers, which are all "Sister vessels".
b) Was involved in the setting up of this office, was taking care of the technical maintenance of 12 OPL boats, belonging to the company along with the tankers.
c) During this tenure have made arrangements for the Dry Dock repairs of a 53000 DWT chemical tanker which was repaired after “grounding”. This repair involved the replacement of around 100 Tons of steel.
d) Attended the sea trials of 3 tanker vessels delivered by the STX Shipyard.
e) Planning, controlling and execution of all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, dry docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.
f) Have been actively involved with Pre-Vetting preparation of the vessels for vetting inspection by Oil Major like: Chevron, Shell, Exxon Mobil and BP.
g) Formulating a dynamic work plan and action list with the vessel's command, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with the Owner's policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.
h) Working with other members of the Management Team to co-ordinate all relevant information required for the preparation of the vessel running cost budget. Ensuring that strict cost control on all aspects of vessel expenditure is enforced and taking action where necessary to bring costs to budget level.
i) Monitoring of vessel performance trends including speed, fuel and lubricating oil consumptions and to take remedial actions where these are out with agreed or expected parameters.
j) Visiting the vessels at regular intervals and reporting on general condition, repairs and maintenance, crew performance, safety, environmental protection, and any actions required. Discussing with the Ship's Command the work plan, running costs, spares and stores and other issues of concern and reporting the same.
k) Providing reports to Owners concerning the management, expenditure and condition of the vessel as per the Management Agreement.
l) Authorizing all necessary vessel orders for stores, spares, repairs and survey within limits of authority to ensure that the vessel remains adequately stocked for safe and efficient operation and to obtain the Client's approval for any unbudgeted expenditure.
m) Working closely with the MS&Q Superintendent to ensure that repairs of all reported deficiencies, damages and non-conformities are cleared as quickly as possible.
n) Assisting the MS&Q Superintendent in the investigation of Incidents and to establish the root cause and make recommendations to prevent a recurrence.
o) Assisting as required in any emergency response.
p) Preparing any Insurance claims and to liaise with Owners and Underwriters' representatives in processing claims and submissions of allegations.
q) Interviewing and briefing Senior Officers on the work plan and requirements prior to them joining the vessel.


2004-2006 : Technical Superintendent.

1. Worked in Hong Kong, under the Technical Manager, maintaining a fleet of 8 Bulk Carriers and 2 chemical tankers from the 1st September 2004.
2. Was promoted to the rank of "Chief Technical Superintendent", - taking care of all operational matters.
3. During this period , other than the normal jobs of monitoring the vessels performance:
a) Attended to three Dry Dockings of the Bulk carrier fleet, vessel particulars:
M.V Great Prestige : DWT - 46193.78 MT
M.V Great Majesty : DWT - 46194.67 MT (Official No: HK –
0467)
M.V Eider : DWT - 34922 MT.
b) Handled the making of the complete docking specifications of the vessels, sending the same for quotations to various ship yards around the globe, Comparing the quotations / deciding on the shipyard, supervising the repairs as the attending superintendent, and making final settlements on the costing with the shipyards.
c) Attended to all matters of running the "2 Chemical Tankers", and carried out the Boiler repairs – re-tubing of the vessels Auxiliary Boiler.
d) Was involved in the technical arrangements and dry docking repairs of the Bulk Carrier - M.V. Eider, after a grounding which resulted in the renewal of 120 Tons of steel.
e) Was in charge of the supervisory repairs of the Cargo Cranes of the M.V Great Prestige and the M.V Great Majesty, at the Nantong Shipyard. This repair included the complete removal of the cranes slewing bearings and re-bedding the crane base.
f) Also attended to the hand over sale of a bulk carrier vessel ,"Diamond 53 Class" constructed by the Chengxi Shipyard

1999-2004: Worked as a Chief Engineer in Shipping Companies.
The work scope involved maintenance of Ship's machinery: Diesel Generators ; Alternators ; Air Compressors ; Life Boat Engines ; Valves ; Pipe Lines ; Main Propulsion diesel engines ; Turbines ; Pressure Vessels ; Oil Centrifuges ; Incinerators ; Fuel oil sea water pumps ; Hydraulic winches ; diesel engines ; electrical systems ; Cement and Barryte pumping operations ; Vessel safety systems ; Air conditioning ; refrigeration systems ; Cargo winches ; Ships automation and control systems ; Rudder and steering gear.

1996-1999 : Worked as a Chief Engineer, in the Hospitality Industry in charge of the maintenance of all civil and electro-mechanical systems of "Jeddah Trident" and "Hotel Omalqura" Saudi Oberoi's 5 -Star Hotels of 300 Rooms each, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Job scope covered all maintenance of all hotel machinery and equipment.

1990-1996 : Worked as a Chief Engineer in Shipping Companies.

1980 – 1990 : Worked and was promoted from a Fifth Engineer to a Chief Engineer in Shipping Companies.
