1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am a former Australian infantry NCO, having spent nine years in the Australian Army, including several deployments to various locations around the world including East Timor. Since leaving the Army I have worked for the last four years in the Private Security Industry in the Middle East as a Security Consultant and Security Supervisor in charge of my own team. During my last contract in Iraq I was also asked to perform the role of Operations Manager during the Operations Managers absences. These positions included being responsible for the management of millions of dollars in equipment and the safety and wellbeing of team members and clients.
My most recent experience was as the Security Manager for a 5 star International Hotel in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
I have a lot of Personal Protection Experience, having protected clients in transit throughout Iraq with private security companies for the last few years as well as learning CP techniques with the SAS in support of the Commonwealth Heads of government meetings in Brisbane in 2002.

Security Manager Airways Hotel Port Moresby

Coordinating the security requirements for a 5 star International Hotel in Papua New Guinea.
Duties Included-
• Being on call 24/7 for any security incidents.
• Coordinating 24/7 security presence on Airways grounds.
• Investigating security Incidents including theft, assaults and accidents.
• Co-ordination of separate security elements within Airways grounds.
• Conducting security escorts for Airways management within Port Moresby.
• Liaison with other security companies within Port Moresby.
• Liaison with Police and other Port Moresby authorities.
• Implementation of security policies.
• Writing Fire and Emergency package for Airways Hotel.
• Conduct of security and fire/emergency training.
• Providing security briefings for visiting Hotel Guests and VIP’s.

November 2007- October 2008
Team Leader Convoy Escort Team EODT Security

Providing security to convoys, leaving from Abu Ghuraib warehouse to various locations in Northern Iraq.
Duties Included-
• Commanding a Convoy Escort Team comprised of 5-7 Expats and 15-17 Local National security team members.
• Responsible for planning and executing convoy escort and PSD missions in hostile environments.
• Responsible for Navigation, Communications, Operational Control, Welfare and Training of a mixed Expat and Local National Team.
• Providing security to Sensitive Cargo in transit through Northern Iraq.
• Maintaining a PSD capability for EODT and US Military personnel through Northern Iraq.
• Management of locally employed Iraqi guards for convoy escort duties.
• Development of CET training and SOPs due to this being a new contract.
March 2006- October 2006
PSD operator/ Assistant Team Leader Cochise Consultancy

Providing security support to EOD Technicians clearing munitions as part of the CMC program in southern Iraq.
Duties Included-
• Providing Close Protection to EOD technicians while performing ordnance clearance tasks in the AO.
• Providing Security for EOD Technicians while in transit around southern Iraq.
• Maintaining a permanent shift of security personnel to accommodation areas within camp.
• Management of local Iraqi guard force providing outer perimeter of camp defenses.

January-March 2005
Security Team member Osprey Asset Management

Providing security support to the Interim Electoral Commission Iraq.
Duties Included-
• Providing security to essential electoral materiel in transit to various locations within Iraq by road.
• Providing security to electoral officials whilst performing duties and in transit around Iraq by road and air.
• Providing security to SkyLink aircraft and aircrew while in transit throughout Iraq.
• Providing security to ballot papers and boxes during and after the elections, whilst in Air transport to various locations within Iraq on board contracted aircraft.

January 1996-January 2005
Australian Infantry Corps 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment

Member of regular Australian Infantry Battalion
Duties Included-
• Commanding a 5 man Light Infantry Reconnaissance Patrol.
• Commanding a 9 man Light Infantry Section
• Commanding a 2 tube Mortar Detachment
• Second in Command of a 30 man Light Infantry Platoon/ Recon Platoon.
• Being responsible for the smooth running of a Mortar Command Post.
• Providing and maintaining HF, VHF and UHF Radio Communications support to a rifle company.

Management Experience:

During my time at EODT I was often called upon to step up as the Operations Manager for the GRD Project to fill in during leave breaks and other absences. This position was responsible for the management of around 50 Expat security operators and over 150 local national members, as well as millions of dollars worth of Equipment, Vehicles, Clients, Cargo and the reputation of the company.
Since leaving EODT I have been the Security Manager of an international 5 Star hotel in Papua New Guinea as stated above.

Maritime Experience:

Experience training and working with the Australian Navy on border Protection operations in the waters of northern Australia in May-August 2003. Gained experience in Boarding and searching suspect vessels, Interdiction and defensive operations.
