Operating gas lift/gas export, to a spec. of 2 lb per mscf. 100,000 bls water flood and other associated equipment, FMC hydraulics, inert gas, Minox Unit for water flood.

• Installing 34km gas pipeline to compressor station, Installing pig launchers and receivers, gas meters, line heater, separation equipment and glycol skid.
• Re-commission 10km pipe line from compressor station to power plant, also compressor station vessels, flare system, 1 million cubic feet storage system, sales meters and other equipment that had been set 25 years ago.

North Nemba Platform, B&C area, COPI, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda Angola
• Performed the installation and start-up of the 78,000-ton oil production and gas injection offshore platform 5 weeks ahead of schedule achieving an extra 280,000 barrels of oil production.
• Coordinated with the drilling rig that is currently on the platform while producing about 31,000 barrels of oil per day, and injecting 100 million cubic feet of gas at 5,000 psi per day.
• Trained national operators on Allen Bradley Wonderware teaching them how to operate all equipment on the platform, Including three Taurus 60 generators and two Mars gas compressors, three 900hp crude oil shipping pumps, seawater lift pumps and other equipment. Resulting in the development of safer work procedures for launching and receiving pigs and other operations such as swapping generators, starting standby equipment, and performing safety checks.

PIC (Person in Charge) 2000–2001
Takula Field, GS-Mike Platform, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola
• Assigned to Takula’s GS Mike Platform as a PIC (Person in Charge) over 70 contractors and operation personnel during the structure upgrade because piping restrictions was reducing production. The upgrade increased fluid production by 5,000 barrels per day.
• Oversaw that the work was done according to Chevron’s SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and Chevron’s Safe Practices Manual as well as installing new equipment according to Chevron’s SID (Safety in Design). We were operating in a SIMOP mode (Production and Construction). Production is 80,000 BOPD and 100+ MMCFPD.
• The upgrade included the following.
Installation of a Flare Scrubber and associated piping.
Modification of 3 Production Separators, changing inlet nozzles from 12” to 16”, adding
Instrument nozzles and relief valves and tying into a new flare system.
Addition of 200 horsepower crude oil charge pump.
Addition of Sump system and associated piping.
Adding PLC Control on all equipment on platform

Senior Start-up Operator/PIC 1999–2000
KWIP–Water flood, Gas Injection and Production Platform, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola
Involved with the installation, commissioning and start up of KWIP platform. The platform has Water flood (400,000 BWPD at 2,060 PSIG injection discharge), Gas Compression (120 MMSCFD) and Production (50,000 BOPD).
Oversaw daily operation of production and water-flood in accordance with established procedures and practices, including instructing and training of Angolan nationals in all phases of operations and the Moore DCS control system. I used a high degree of communication skills based on language barriers and the remedial educational levels of the Angolan employees. I worked with the Daewoo Construction Company to insure a safe working relationship between operations and construction personnel during the installation and start-up of this platform.

Senior Start-up Operator; Area B &C 1998–1999
South Nemba and Lomba Oil production and Gas injection platforms, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola
Involved with the installation, commissioning and start up of both platforms. I worked with a drilling rig on each platform. The operating system was Allen Bradley Wonderware. I operated and produced 70,000 bpd of oil and injected 130mmcf of gas at 5,000 PSI. Some of the equipment included Seawater lift pumps for the shell/tube oil coolers, C’Treat water makers, 900hp shipping pumps, Mars and Taurus 60 Solar gas compressors, Taurus 60 generators, a glycol gas dehydration system, and pigging. I was responsible for the platforms’ operating under Simultaneous Operations Guidelines (SIMOP) while drilling was going on. I was also responsible for the daily operation of production in accordance with established procedures and practices. My duties included instructing and training of Angolan nationals in all phases of operations.

PIC (person in charge); Takula Area 1993–1998
COPI, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola.
Supervised many platform and well jacket up-grades; including GS-Lima, GS-Papa, GS-November, GIP-FOX. On the GS-Lima revamp;
• Installed a new control room, shutdown valves on all incoming pipelines.
• Changed out all fire water lines on platform.
• Installed a new pneumatic control system and changed out all the instrument airlines.
• Overhauled all three Waukesha generators.
• De-bottled necking of oil lines which increased oil production by 5,000 bpd.
This job was completed while the platform was maintained 60,000 BOPD production.

On the GS-November project we installed: solar centaur and Taurus compressor. Shell/tube coolers, sea water lift pumps, closed water cooling system, 20’ X 40’ deck extension, glycol packs to dry 50 MMCFD. Recommend and wrote procedures for heavy lifts (18 ton). This work was managed while 60-70 contract and company personnel were on the platform everyday and the platform was producing 80,000 BPD and 100 MMCFD.

Production Operator; GS-November; Takula Area 1991–1993
Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola
Involved with the installation, commissioning and start up of the platform. I operated and produced 90,000 bpd of oil and 100mmcf of gas as well as testing wells on nine out-lying well jackets with up to ten wells on each jacket. Some of the equipment on the platform included three Taurus 60 Generator sets, four De-salters, charge pumps, shipping pumps, CHF fired heaters, C’Treat water makers, a Taurus 60 Gas compressor, and chemical treating equipment. I operated a gas compressor system to compress 50mmcf of gas lift gas. At the same time I was training Angolan national employees in the operation of the platform, and running and receiving pigs from well jackets on a weekly basis. I was responsible for the daily operation of production, injection, and treating facilities in accordance with established procedures and practices. Duties included instructing and training of Angolan nationals in all phases of operations.

Production Operator; GS Mike; Takula Area 1990-1991
Chevron, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola.
I operated GS-Mike platform. It was producing 90,000 bpd and 120 mmcf of gas. It has four out lying well jackets with up to 10 wells on each jacket flowing to the platform. Some of the equipment includes three Centaur Solar Generator sets, four De-salters, charge pumps, shipping pumps, CHF fired heaters and C’Treat water makers. We treated the oil before sending it to a SPM Tanker. I over saw pigging operations from other production platforms as well as well jackets. At the same time I was training National employees in the operation of the platform.

Gulf Oil
GIP Plant Operator; GIP Fox, GIP Delta, GIP Hotel; Malongo Area 1982-1990
Gulf Oil, Angola Business Unit, Cabinda, Angola.
Helped start-up, commission and operate GIP-Hotel, Fox and Delta Platforms with NGL Process, Gas Lift and Gas Injection. There were a total of fourteen GE Frame 1 Gas Turbine compressors on the three platforms. In the NGL process there was Expander, JT Valve and NGL separation equipment. We separated the propane, butane, C5’s and C6’s. About 6,000 BLS Per day of propane and butane were sent to a SPM to be loaded on a tanker. We put the C5’s and C6’s back into the production stream. The rest was compressed and used for gas lift and injection gas. During this same time I was training National employees in the operation of the platforms.
