I am applying for a Rig Mechanic position. Please see my attached C/V. I am very interested in working offshore. In mid July am going to Thailand to attend the BOSET course put on by MOG Industry Training. I hope this will improve my chances to work offshore. I realize that I don’t have the offshore experience but I do have 30 years as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. The only way one can get the experience is by working in the industry. I have worked in different industries and have gained a lot of knowledge that I would bring to the offshore industry. I know if given a chance I would be an asset to the company.

I am applying for a Rig/Heavy Duty Mechanic position. I am a very reliable and dependable individual. I take pride in my work and do it in a safe and timely manner. I have worked in many different multicultural areas both in Canada and outside of Canada where you have to be somewhat of a diplomat to get the job done. I have a very positive out look to life and I don’t look at the glass as being half empty rather as half full. My various experiences in different industries bring new and diverse ideas to solving problems. I am a team player and am willing to take other peoples input and suggestions. I am also very motivated, self-starter and can for see things that should be done and not wait on till there is a problem. This comes from my on going training in preventive maintenance. I enjoy passing on my knowledge to apprentices and understudies. I feel that I can adapt to any industry and any situation that may arise.

• Hydraulic Mechanic, maintenance and overhaul.

Precision Drilling International/ Weatherford International

Duties included:
• Rig Manager for one week after the rig manager was asked to leave (April6/06 to April 13/06).
• Working in Venezuela, 28 days on and 28 days off, camp job.
• Maintenance and overhaul of all equipment on Top Drive Electric (1500 HP)
• Types of equipment on drilling rig are: 3512 Cat engines, Canrig Top Drive 275 ton, Emsco F1000 Mud Pumps, Continental Emsco Drawworks, IT28 Cat Loader, Brandt Shale Shakers, Halco 1180, 2500 Pumps and other miscellaneous equipment.
• This is a pad operation where 14 to 20 holes are being drilled. The rig is self-contained and is able to skid from hole to hole on mat rollers.
• The holes are all horizontal and directional drilling is used.
• PM program is used and I look after the program both on the computer and hard copy in a filling system. This is all reported to the mechanical supervisor in the main office. I am familiar with Excel and Word programs.
