I have attached a copy of my resume highlighting my academic background and professional experience for your consideration.

I believe that I am a viable candidate for your company, as I have had extensive experience in the marine engineering field, supervising the construction and coordinating the management of merchant and offshore vessels, such as chemical/product carriers, bulk carriers, oil tankers and platform supply vessels. I have managed projects in Italy as well as Asia, Africa, America and Europe.

Furthermore, I have earned several qualifications in the fields of safety, environmental and quality management, risk assessment and incident investigation techniques, which allow me to better understand the various technical and management issues that can arise while co-coordinating projects, and develop appropriate strategies for resolving them. I have a broad understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and a passion to continually improve relevant performance, accompanied by excellent interpersonal skills that impact team and contractor performance.

I’m extremely organized, work independently and co-operatively with others and I’m able to follow through to ensure that tasks are fully completed with the utmost level to professionalism and attention to detail.

I am of course willing to travel for periods of time and with short notice.

I'm presently located in China, as construction manager, and I have Italian citizenship and authorized to work in all of the European community. I am looking to relocate to Canada and I am in the process of finalizing my Canadian citizenship.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]


Ship Construction – SUPERVISOR MANAGER
Company: G.B. Shipping Company, Jingjiang, China [April 2009- Now].
Responsible for the supervision of the construction of no. 8 postpanamax bulk carrier of 92500dwt at New Yangzi Shipbuilders and no. 1 Capesize bulk carrier of 176.000dwt at New Times Shipbuilding. Responsible for the general construction performances, including structures, painting, outfitting, machinery installation as well as machinery shop tests, vessels’ sea trials and deliveries.
Responsible for the coordination of a 4 people staff, made up of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, addressing responsibilities and task on a daily basis.
Further responsible for assisting and take charge of After Service Guarantee matters of newly delivered vessels; assisting and taking charge of existing vessels repairs and ad-hoc conversion/retro-fitting project; evaluating capabilities and quality of shipyards in both new building and repairs.

Cargo and Offshore Ship Management – TECHNICAL AND MARINE (DPA) ENGINEER
Company: Fratelli D’Amato SpA, Naples, Italy [January 2006- April 2009].
Responsible for the implementation and improvement of company management Policies and Procedures, according to the International Standards ISO 9001:2000, ISM Code, ISO 14001:2004, Oil Majors safety criteria and best industry practice. Further responsible for the management of the company’s fleet, including repair, maintenance, technical operations and new-building programs. Worked closely alongside the company’s Technical Director while performing day-to-day tasks as well as review and development of technical specifications for a fleet of Panamax Bulk Carriers, Craned Handysize, Aframax Oil Tankers , VLCC and Chemical-Product Tankers.

The main projects that I had been assigned to over the past 3 years are listed as follows:

• Ships’ Conversions – Project Engineer
Conversion of a Capesize Bulkcarrier 180.000dwt into a Floating Coal Terminal, equipped with heavy-duty cranes, hoppers, conveyors and loaders, which is capable of storing and trans-shipping 4,5 million tons of coal. Conversion of an Aframax Oil Tanker 110.000dwt into and FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading unit) with a single aft turret permanent mooring and facilities for forward tandem cargo transfer.
Outline and Contract design, including material cost estimates and technical support during contract negotiation. Yard evaluation, including proposal for project management, building strategy, facility development and construction schedule. Procurement support consisting of technical handling of all maker list items.

• New building – Site Supervisor
Responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of two offshore vessels (PSV) from the keel laying to the delivery of the vessels. Responsibilities included the safe and efficient execution of all the construction activities, facility modifications and extensions, review and development of technical specifications.

• Integrated Management System – HSQE Coordinator and Internal Auditor
Ensured that the Integrated Management System (ISM, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) was upheld to the highest standards, while maintaining high ratings for the Tanker Management Self Assessment. Responsibilities entailed: planning and performing internal and external audits; document and quality control; pollution and environmental excellence; monitoring and analyzing the data and results of inspections, investigations and audits in order to develop and implement improvement actions and initiatives; make recommendations for improving management systems and work processes.

Company: Fincantieri Shipyard, Castellammare di Stabia, Italy [January 2005 - January 2006].
Supervised preparation and coating application of steel vessels during the shipyard construction phase. Worked closely with the production manager for the supervision of Hull, outfitting and machinery work, including installation and testing, for the construction of Ro-Pax vessels.
