I joined the project as a HSE coordinator during the construction phase of this 5 Billion dollar expansion at Shell’s Scotford refinery. My duties involve implementation of HSE policy, acting as a field advisor reviewing Safe Work Plans, hazard assessments, atmospheric quality testing, conducting safety audits and trainer for aerial work platforms.
2006 – 2008
I worked under contract for various companies involved in mine maintenance and capital projects for hydro transport and bitumen production. During this time, I formulated a comprehensive Health and Safety Manual for SUMAC Fabrication Ltd. involving manufacturing facilities of intrinsically safe electrical equipment to supply the Oil Sands stakeholders.
2003 – 2006
Clearwater Welding and Fabrication
Based in Fort McMurray, I worked for CWF as a field safety specialist in mine maintenance at the Aurora and Mildred Lake sites. I was the Safety officer for an Amine line expansion at the Suncor Energy site. I was also the training coordinator for mine safety personnel and completed testing and evaluation of Personal Protective Equipment systems for specialized welding applications.

During this period, I have been engaged in various roles as a commercial pilot, production worker in a steel fabrication plant and heavy equipment operator and long haul transport operator.

Served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat soldier and Airframe Systems Technician.
