• Our project is the Engineering, Modification and Services of the existing eight (8) Offshore Topsides in the Caspian Sea for the British Petroleum (BP).
• Responsible for assisting the Principal Structural Engineer to ensure Structural deliverables are issued on schedule and within budget.
• Supervise and coach junior structural engineers, draughtsmen and local staffs.
• Structural Engineer in a scheme to upgrade eight (8) Topside offshore platforms. Modifications were related to safety, operational improvements and increase in production.

• Preparing engineering standards, basis of design and specifications for offshore analysis, design and engineering drawings.

Senior Structural Engineer
• Our project was the Woodside Energy LNG Phase V Expansion Liquefaction Unit Train 5. It is a joint venture between Foster Wheeler and Worley Parsons. The detailed design was carried out by Foster Wheeler. Foster Wheeler is also the managing contractor and consultant on behalf of the client (Woodside Energy Ltd.). All aspects of design, technical, construction and installation issues are Foster Wheeler scope. The LNG Liquefaction Units was fabricated by the EPC contractor – PT McDermott in Batam, Indonesia. The modules were transported by barge to Western Australia for integration and installation to the project site.
• Structural Engineer on behalf of client (Woodside/Foster Wheeler) in the fabrication yard of the EPC contractor to look into all aspects of construction, fabrication, erection, integration, load-out, transportation and installation to the project site.
• Review and approval of project studies, specification compliance and proposals for Constructability and Construction Hazard Identification.
• Review and approval of contractor’s project associated reports, calculations and fabrication drawings and MTO.
• Review and approval of contractor’s method statements, lifting, erection and installation procedures, drawings and calculations. To ensure that it meets project specifications and applicable international codes and standards.
• Review and approval of Contractor’s loadout procedures and seafastening.
• Review and approval of contractor’s structural deliverables and engineering personnel time sheets.
• Attends technical and coordination meetings with the contractor and subcontractors.
• Monitor contractor’s engineering and construction activities to ensure the schedule milestones are achieved.
• Addressing all structural queries relating to construction and assembly sequence.
• Coordinate changes and drawing revisions.
• Prepare calculations for alternative member sizes and connection details either proposed by the contractor or generated to resolve particular problems.

• Our project was the procurement, construction, fabrication and installation of four (4) Offshore Topside Platforms for the British Petroleum (BP). Each Topside has an average float over weight of 16,000 tones. Our company – McDermott is the main contractor of the four (4) Topsides.
• Heavy lift and installation analysis of fabricated steelwork panel and decks, equipments and drilling modules with weight as much as 3,000 tones for site erection and integration to the main Topside.
• Specification of rigging, cranage and safe methods of erection.
• Answer and coordinate the resolution of technical queries arising from site.
• Structural analysis, design and finite element analysis using STAAD.Pro, McDermott’s MICROSAS in-house and other engineering software.
• Structural design conforming to AISC, API and BS (Steel Structures), ACI (Concrete Structures), UBC and ASCE (Loadings, Seismic and Transportation), DNV and other international codes.
• Conceptual and detailed design of circular bored piles and pile caps as foundation support for the 16,000 tones Topsides during fabrication, concrete skidways and load-in pads. Nonlinear analysis of steel sheet pile and mooring bollards used in the Topside fabrication and loadout.
• Prepare method statements and calculations for project execution i.e. lifting, erection and installation of fabricated steelworks panel, drilling modules, vessels, equipments and generators.
• Design, review and execute onshore and offshore activities.
• Reviews, monitors, controls and implements Design Changes Notice and assists the construction supervisor in the coordination of technical and operational support.
• Responsible for the preparation of the Load-out procedures, design calculations and drawings for the Central and West Azeri Topsides with float over weight of 16,000 tones. The method used in the load-out operation is by skidding the Topside to the concrete skidway and transferred the load to transportation barge by pulling with the aid 900 tones Pulling Jack. The CA & WA Topside Load-out Operation was successfully completed on October 2004 and September 2005 respectively.
• Barge mooring analysis of the barge called TMI-5 & 6, EMS Pontoon for Load-in of Drilling Modules. Mooring analysis of STB-1 Barge for Load-out of 16,000 tones Central and West Azeri Topsides.
• Prepare trailer arrangements, details and calculations of Drilling Module and fabricated panel and deck assembly for Load-out/Load-in, transportation and integration to the main Topside.
• Barge upgrade and strengthening for load-out operation.
• Assisting with extensive civil works associated with upgrading of former Russian shipyard into modern fabrication facility and preparation of quayside for skidded loadout.
• Design of foundation and temporary support for Top Side assembly with wind and earthquake analysis.
