6. Additional Information - CV/Resume Part 6 [Optional]
I have proudly worked for Fluor, repeatedly on numerous mega-Projects, and BHP, AGIP, Worley Parsons have also been repeat Clients, but the role with Fluor on the Freeport MacMoran minesite expansion in the highlands of the Indonesian part of Papua New Guinea, whilst extremely challenging, was also one of my most significant and successful accomplishments. Apart from the recent Global Financial Crisis, I was earmarked to mobilise to the FSU for Fluor on an Oil & Gas Project as Lead Civil QA Engineer in early 2009, which means that I would have had over 23 years association and roles with Fluor in very Senior roles. All assignments have had significant responsibility and autonomy, successful outcomes, often in extremely challenging environments, and for the Company rated as the world’s most admired EPCM, Fluor.
As Chief Field Engineer on a USD1.2 Billion mine expansion on the world’s largest copper/gold mine, in a remote area of SEAsia (Irian Jaya) 14000ft above sea level, I simultaneously accelerated the tail end of the critical path dramatically, whilst reducing cement consumption by 35% and enhancing and assuring quality to below 5%SD continuously. Each mine production minute equated to say USD3000, and by reducing concrete pour times for 1000yd3 pours (from say 30+ hours to 10 hours), over approximately 70 odd critical path concrete pours (70 pours * (30-10) hours * 60 minutes * USD3000 =USD252million). Accelerating critical formwork reuse time, freeing up shipping , cranage, handling, storage and truck haulage, (from sea level to 15000ft above sea level- three prime movers/20tonnes), by reducing cement consumption by QA at the peak materials handling period during an SE Asian cement shortage in a geographically isolated and topographically dangerous remote location, an immeasurable gain with self funding cost/benefits was achieved. Simultaneously, the raising of quality confidence levels and acceleration of production cash flow was achieved. Contractor, Project Manager, Client, Engineering, Logistics, effort, budget and ROI all shared in the benefit of the outcome, very simply, economically and confidently
