I have just finished my contract working as a Handyman Dresser in Hinkley Power Station. Previously though I was working with ABC Contracts with Found Ocean as a Roustabout on the Edya Freya Vessel, based off-shore of Norway.
I have also worked as a Trainee Rigger with Amec for two years on the Buzzard rig ofshore from Aberdeen.

Since 2006 I have been involved in 3 different projects with Amec, 2 Hook-ups and 1 Up-Grade Project.
My duties have included:
General rigging and lifting duties as and when required, being part of team installing sea water lift pumps and installing pipework for water injection pumps. I have also been involved in a project installing a new riser.
Taking out permits, carrying out risk assessments, manual handling and tric cards.
2005 - 2006 CLYDE PORT HUNTERSTON TERMINAL
An active member of a highly motivated production shift team who regularly supports Mechanical and Electrical personnel with maintenance and breakdown duties i.e. isolating for productive means and Hydraulic pumps.
Currently based at Clyde Port wagon loading station (W.L.S) with responsibility for transport (train) planning and loading prior to dispatch to various power stations.
With support of the Electrical and Mechanical engineer, I am responsible for communication between all train drivers, track saunters and direction of loading wagons.
As an operator, the following tasks are a selection of my daily routine.
1, Unload and dispatch of bulk products from cargo vessels to 175,000 tonnes. A three month intense training course had to be passed beforehand involving crane control panel operations, V.H.E radio communications, disciplined driving of crane and an overall familiarity with the machinery as it is heavy industrial engineering equipment.
2, Loading of raw products onto transport units/vessels up to 28k tonnes via GEC remote loader.
3, Operation stacking/reclamation machines utilised during dispatch of raw products from cargo vessels.

Duties include manual handling and safe operation of explosives and chemicals. Working with specific procedures and policies to ensure customer products meet quality control measures.
