Paramount Resources 2006 – now
Drilling & Completion Technician

• Created the drilling, completion, abandonment and recompletion programs for Southern Alberta ensuring safe, regulatory compliant and cost effective measures were undertaken out in the field. Drilling and completion costs were cut by 40 – 50% over the past year making wells economical given the current price of natural gas.
• Wells drilled and completed in Southern Alberta varied from conventional shallow gas, to deeper targets in the Banff formation for oil production.
• Coordinated all drilling and completion activities in Southern Alberta for Paramount Resources, resulting in time and cost savings for the company. This effort kept rigs, personnel and equipment moving in the field, eliminating any downtime as a result of poor planning.
• Created the drilling & completion programs for Northern Alberta, ensuring safe, regulatory compliant and cost effective measures were undertaken out in the field.
• Wells were drilled to the Sulphur Point formation and completed for sour gas production.
• Coordinate all drilling and completion activities in Northern Alberta for Paramount, again resulting in time and cost savings for the company. These locations were winter access, making the planning process extremely important to get wells drilled, completed and tied-in during the short time frame given by the season.
• Executed an Oil Sands Evaluation project near Pelican Lake Alberta, proving reserves of oil in place for the field. The goal to increase the value of the land base in that area, results still being calculated by third party group.
• Creation of accurate cost estimates and undertook a bidding process for capital projects, ensuring the budget constraints were achieved and minimizing costs. Communicating project details to the vendors so the bidding process was as accurate as possible was also of great importance to this process.
• Generated D56 notifications (regulatory requirement) for drilling, completion, and recompletion activities. This being a document for the surface land groups use to keep landowners aware of work planned.
• Received daily calls from the field consultants, ensuring programs were being following in safe, cost effective manner.
• Cost tracking and accruals on a daily and monthly basis, ensuring project don’t get over spent.
• Ensured the company was compliant with the directives relating to Coal Bed Methane development (CBM).

JED Oil 2005 – 2006
Production Engineering Technician

• Responsible for the creation, maintenance and upkeep of the PVR database (Production Volume Reporting).
• Tracked production volumes on a daily basis, ensuring production target were in sight and watching for individual well declines that were atypical. In doing this made sure office staff would quickly find candidates for workovers or well servicing to keep production volumes up.
• Coordinated the pipeline applications. This included preparing and submitting pipeline applications, responding to ERCB concerns and relaying approvals to the field for construction as they came in.
• Generated D56 letters for wells and pipelines.
• H2S searches for new drills, as well as surface casing set depths, this being a regulatory requirement ensuring well control and possible safety hazards.
• Also was responsible for the reserves database for the company (Mosaic), and getting the third party evaluations done.
• Submitted data to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board to remain compliant.
• Also took care of various tasks as needed for the engineering staff.

EnCana Corporation 2000 – 2005
Engineering Technician ~ 2003 – 2005 Strathmore SBU

• Generated completion programs for the Horseshoe Canyon (CBM) wells in the Strathmore area, ensuring all wells drilled were completed in a timely manner to get production from the capital expenditure of drilling.
• Received daily calls from the field consultants, ensuring programs were being following in safe, cost effective manner
• Assisted in analysis of CBM completion techniques/practices, with the goal to find cost effective completion techniques that would optimize production.
• Kept track of our completion statuses; and keeping all members of the team up to date on how we were doing in regards to our targets (completion & production volumes).
• Modeled gathering systems for optimization purposes using Pipesim 2000/2003 & FAST Piper, identifying line looping and compression candidates for production optimization.
• Submitted data to the ERCB as needed.
• Also took care of various tasks as needed for the engineering staff.

Petroleum Technician ~ 2000 – 2003

• Coordinated digitizing project using Geolog 6.4 to load logging curves into OpenWorks, and database management for the Strathmore OpenWorks database.
• Assisted with the preparation of holding and downspacing applications to the ERCB.
• Preparation of completion packages for locations in the Strathmore area.
• Experienced in generating maps via AccuMap & GeoScout, as well as generating cross sections using StratWorks.
• Entered drilling locations and other data relating to the drilling project into RTD Tracker, and maintenance for the projects. This is software that was able to track process of the projects, ensuring all necessary steps were being completed in a timely fashion.
• Various support tasks for geology and engineering staff as requested.
