POSITION DESCRIPTION: The candidate is to: Be responsible for providing professional education and training in the nautical science. Serve as an expert Instructor in one or more of the following disciplines - Navigation (Terrestrial, Celestial, Electronic), Safety Training, Seamanship, Bridge Resource Management (BRM), Ship handling, RADAR, ARPA, Proficiency in Survival Craft, Meteorology, Stability and Trim, Small Vessel Operations, Cargo Handling and Stowage, etc. Maintain the highest level of technical expertise in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Standards of Training, Certification, and watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) and international standards, laws, and regulations relating to the training and certification of seafarers.
SELECTION CRITERIA: The candidate should have: Class 1 Master Certificate of Competency (Unlimited Master). Valid STCW-95 Certificate. Minimum of 5-year experience at sea. Instructor Certificate. Minimum of 5-year experience in the marine training field. Ability to teach all the required safety courses for mariners. Ability to develop training manuals for any new course. Flexibility to teach onshore and offshore in English. Flexibility to work on any work schedule. Excellent Communication in English.
COMMENTS: Marine Department provides marine services to other company departments, including material and crew transportation, berthing and unberthing of oil tankers, offshore security and pollution control, and /or support of offshore drilling and production activities.
