The engineering manager is accountable for the delivery of the engineering deliverables for his / her project and ensuring that the appropriate level of technical assurance is provided. The engineering manager is accountable for the delivery of the engineering deliverables in both the define and execute phases and working with the select phase team to guarantee a smooth transition. This will include ensuring the appropriate level of technical assurance is provided within the various engineering design houses and also during the field execution activities. The engineering manager will have a team of engineering team leads / engineers (technical authorities) reporting into him / her.
The engineering manager will be providing support to one of the major projects within the Downstream / Midstream project portfolio, which includes assets in refining, chemicals and LNG. The projects are mega in size and are part of the exciting portfolio within the Americas region.

Delivery of top quartile project in accordance with agreed premises - joint accountability across the entire project team. This includes alignment with Shell's various requirements including the safety/process safety project standards / guides and engineering design standards.
Position leads the owners engineering team - Accountable for technical assurance of the design, construction and start-up of the facility. Delivery of the technical deliverables and assurance per the controls identified in the project's assurance which also includes selection of project standards / specifications which leads into the development of the design and engineering package.
Assuring the appropriate technical oversight of the various EPCs including having owner's team residing in the various EPCs.
Incorporation of engineering / project learnings from Shell and industry projects.
Position oversees the development and execution of the project's quality plan which will include asset integrity assurance,technical assurance process and flawless project delivery, in addition, to focus on vendors and traditional quality assurances activities performed during project execution
Development / coaching of the engineering team - administrative accountability of the technical team leads
