We have a Urgent requirement for our client in Doha (QATAR)

Interview tentatively on 04Aug2013 in Mumbai.

Communication – Should be very good in English.
• The travel tickets to attend the interview need to be borne by the candidate and shall not be reimbursed by Velosi.
• All the candidates must have very good communication skills in English.

Job Purpose:

•Provides technical expertise and guidance during the life of the project for all lifting equipment to be brought into and used on the site
•Provides lifting equipment surveillance of all EPC / Subcontractors work
•Monitors daily, monthly and quarterly lifting equipment checks and inspections
•Leads off site lifting equipment inspections when required
•Supports checking of Riggers / Operators skills and competencies

Key Result Areas:

•Coordinates the EPC lifting equipment inspectors for conducting technical equipment inspections on all lifting equipment
•Monitors lifting equipment specification and delivery within “Required on Site” dates; participate in pre-inspection, status meetings, and shop inspections as appropriate
•Monitors and appraise lifting equipment to ensure compliance with project SHE&S specification
•Reviews and endorses/rejects deviations to the specification proposed by contractor
•Monitors and ensures EPC work plans and procedures are followed as required by contract for lifting equipment works; suggests improvements to plans and procedures where appropriate
•Monitors and checks all lifting tackle and gear at site ensuring proper certifications for these are in place and properly recorded
•Reviews and appraises EPC lifting equipment scheduling for Inspection and daily use
•Evaluates the performance of the EPC site and construction Inspection groups and personnel, suggesting remedial steps where deficiencies are noted
•Participates in lessons learned reviews and provide input to close-out report

•Communicates concisely in written and verbal context; prepares high quality written documents including e-mails

Problem Solving/Complexity:

•Utilizes a systematic approach to problem solving that ensures accuracy, timeliness and quality of documentation in resolution
•Able to work moderately complex tasks to completion within time constrains of Project, with minimal guidance from more experienced staff
•Participates in the resolution of problems in more demanding and less familiar situations using precedent and own acquired knowledge

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:

•Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision
•Able to make decisions and solve problems related to a specific discipline/field
•Responsible for own work product with minimal guidance and oversight from immediate supervisor
•Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes good use of their time
•Exercises judgment in making decisions; knows when to seek advice

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

•Higher National Certificate or Diploma (HNC or HND), or equivalent from a recognized institution
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in all phases of Lifting Equipment (s) relating to construction and maintenance work in the oil and gas sector, with particular expertise in major green field / brownfield process facilities on and off sites
•Good adaptability to a multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs
•Minimum 5 years Middle East Experience
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team leader
